IBC facts: #8
#Inflammatorybreastcancer Preclinical study into IBC is hampered by a lack of clinically-relevant animal models; a major road block to new markers and therapies. More effort is required to develop models that replicate the human disease https://t.co/bEwlPulgSd
Today’s turn out at the ONJ walk @ONJCancerCentre was the biggest yet! Inspirational to see her, to meet the researchers @ONJCRI and there is merit for medicinal marijuana; we just need further research to establish its utility.
IBC facts: #6

IBC facts: #1
#Inflammatorybreastcancer accounts for 2% of breast cancers, but 10% of deaths from metastatic disease. To beat IBC we need to beat cancer spread! Conversely, more research into IBC could translate to better therapeutic options for non-IBC patients with metastasis!
Time article on metastatic breast cancer. More effort (funding; as there are already plenty of groups that want to evaluate metastatic disease) needs to go into research and treatments. https://t.co/Rdl9BNXvk7
