This is an urgent appeal. We are down so low on donations that no only can we not help anymore dogs and cats, we are struggling to help the ones we are already caring for.
Just now BAWA contacted me, asking us for help to take a dog in our area that desperately needs it. It's so heartbreaking to say no, but I have no choice. I know we can't cope with the little funds we have now.
If we have a project that needs doing, we're not receiving donations for the animals in our care. One thing takes away from the other 😞
I'm begging for any tiny amount from a lot of people. Please share, please donate, please don't click 'like', because it gives the impression that we're getting a lot more support than we actually are. That's the truth of it 😞 We're barely getting any help, but any help we do get is very much appreciated. I wouldn't want to give the impression that it's not 🙏🏻

It’s Mother’s Day and the final day of @Crufts So today we’d like to highlight all the poor breeding mums who are abused by breeders (backyard or not) to make money for their “owners”.

One such mum found her way to us in June of 2020. Her name was Pepper and she had a profound impact on the team. The very next day she was in the emergency vets with suspected pyometra and diagnosed with kidney failure. She also had an untreated cruciate problem which rendered her back leg unusable.

This video shows the heartbreak just one case causes when you pick up the pieces for the breeders. Please remember breeders create new designer breeds like the XL, different colours, ones to negate hair loss….. Doesn’t matter how or where a dog is bred the outcome is the same. Their pups get taken, the mums' lives are at risk giving birth and all whilst healthy dogs die unwanted in the pounds. Where are the breeders then?

Crufts markets itself as the greatest dog show on earth – parading dogs round like they are objects. Many suffering and unable to live normal lives as pet dogs. While they make millions at it, ask yourself what have they done to address the widespread over population of dogs in the UK. Ask yourself how they are using the profits of this enormous event to support the rescue system that is picking up the pieces.

We know we will upset some people with this tweet. But if it makes just one person not buy from a breeder and rescue a dog instead it will have been worth it. You were so loved in the end Pepper 💔
