Still processing the fact that @Hou_Landing will cease to exist in mid-May. I'm so proud of all the work my colleagues and I have produced and I can't believe Houston will be losing bilingual immigration coverage at such an important time

Join us in urging Congress to vote NO on H.R. 9495!

My colleagues & I worked 3 years to unionize and reach a contract w/the Southern California News Group, which owns the Orange County Register, where I'm based, LA Daily News, and 9 more newspapers. Today we signed our 1st contract. To quote Martha Stewart, 'It's a good thing.'
I'm so proud of all of my colleagues who worked tirelessly for years to achieve this. It isn't perfect, but being able to lift our veteran journalists making under 50k to that salary base along with the new(er) reporters starting their careers, is a victory worth celebrating!
