@medic2erdoc - Thank you for representing EMS Doctors in New York State with our leaders in EMS from DOH, SEMSCO and more. Hopefully, this year, the promise of becoming Essential is real! It only can improve emergency care for New Yorkers #Healthcarereadiness
Honored to get to make a day trip to Albany, with the best of company, to provide the visible presence of an EMS physician as a part of the NY EMS delegation at the State of the State Address. Made all the more awesome by the NY Army National Guard’s 42nd Infantry Division Band
We really need to improve gender and racial gaps in EMT and paramedics.
Haven’t moved the needle over the past year.
80-90% white and ~80% male
How is your system?

THIS is a great message from @REsusurrus - while we might get in to the business to save lives, more importantly, what we more commonly do is relieve suffering, enhance dignity, and provide comfort & warmth to our patients. Never forget that. #FAST24@FlightBridgeED
I'm often asked about how stressful it is to work in the emergency dept.
I answer yes, but not for the reason ppl think
Patients near death when minutes matter...that's not stressful...it's what we do
A system that inadvertently makes work more difficult is why it's stressful
Next week, @TannerSmida and @Susie_Burnett will be leading a virtual Happy Hour Panel on getting started in EMS research, from finding mentors and beginning a project to working through available datasets. RSVP today: https://t.co/2ZmQK3nVfp
