(18+) Minors DNI. 27, sketching everyday was my new years resolution, decided to start sharing some things as I progress. Don't have high expectations.
@ilovekonel In the US, it used to be a popular trope, but associated with chud politics? Like in comics little minstrel caricatures would chase white characters, and suffragettes were seeking power to make young men marry them.
@ilovekonel Doylist reason: GJ wanted to draw a parallel between precrisis Superboy and Kon, as to revive it.
Watsonian: last she heard about Lana was Kon's account of her crashing Christmas dinner, divorced, w/the baby she named after Clark, trying to steal him from Lois w/tradwife BS.
Day three, Superboy and The Ray! Painting study that turned fanart! I'm sorry Ray is ugly here, first time finishing a full-body subject and painting faces.
@AshestoAislinns@FkMySmPnsLife Figured that out a while ago. He hides it well, but when he involves himself in the fandom regarding gay stuff, he can become particularly vehement.
@ilovekonel He's also very wrong. Ube is Dioscorea alata, which is a monocot, and Sweet potatoes are an eudicot, Ipomoea batatas. There are purple varieties of sweet potato, but ube is different and has been cultivated for thousands of years in Southeast Asia.
@ilovekonel@Quialopa Humans are simply a far more inbred species already. We had so many bottleneck events (times with a mass die-off in population) that we can trace the population to 17 women 75kya. That's after we spent 117k years at a population of 1,280, 930kya.
@ilovekonel That was Gretchen Felker-Martin, the kon project was Magdalene Vissagio, who went on to write for Rebel Moon at Netflix, haven't seen her at dc since, though.
@ilovekonel I think the general thought for Kon was that he was a teen, learning to be a man without the boyhood before, and maybe not the best points of reference.
But a lot of the secondary implications are not the best, which might be why DC pulled the plug on it in the first place.
