It temporarily allows the use of tax-exempt “red-dyed” (off-road) diesel for on-road/highway use from October 5 through December 31, 2026.
It directs the Treasury Secretary to defer the federal excise tax on that fuel (about 24.4 cents per gallon) during that window, without interest or penalties, to the extent permitted by law.
It also directs the IRS not to impose the usual penalties for selling or using dyed diesel on highways in that period.

Democratic socialists, including NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, have stated “seizing the means of production” as their end goal. Mamdani said so at a 2021 Young Democratic Socialists of America conference and has repeated the Marxist line “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” In a 2020 interview he also said a system that could guarantee housing for everyone—whether you call it the abolition of private property or a statewide housing guarantee—would be preferable to the current one.

Their platform calls for public ownership of major corporations and essential industries. In practice that means rent freezes, city-owned grocery stores, and transferring private housing to community land trusts, nonprofits, and tenant groups—while calling landlords parasites.

These are explicit statements from elected officials already in power. The method is regulatory control and ownership transfer. Dave Rubin’s AI short film shows the end state those statements describe.
