Please join me in welcoming two outstanding professionals to the MedSend team. Gary and Steve have proven track records of success and are men of character and commitment. I am blessed to work with them. https://t.co/oL6XU1DfT5
@JemarTisby Jemar, I respect your thought. However the National Christian Foundation has close to $2 billion UDS under management in a donor advised fund. The other major DAF's have billions more from Christians It is sitting there in a non productive manner. We need leadership and vision.
@RichStearns Rich I am hopeful you are asking those questions in preparation for your next book. We, the church, need help mobilizing resources with intentionality. Finely an opportunity to show compassion for what we are for, not disgust for what we are against.
We live in a bad news world. Join us for an evening with an uplifting story! A child of refugee camps goes on the be an MD and serve his people. Amazing! https://t.co/WD7qQq0abz
@RichStearns The answer to your question is "it is us". We, as a people, have decided to embrace the gods of consumerism and self-love. We look the other way when we encounter difficult topics that would challenge our gods. We are paying the price for our choices.
CURE is a strong partner impacting the world through compassionate healthcare. There focus on severing children in dire need is a blessing. It is a privilege to be partnered with them. https://t.co/37hCL0OsNM
I had an opportunity to share how MedSend supported healthcare professionals are relieving suffering, through faith based compassionate care, in some of the most difficult and dangerous places in the world. https://t.co/pihwmAGks6
@RichStearns BTW I supported the foundations of the movement to use political influence to champion social issues important to the church as far back as the late 80's. I now believe we damaged the reputation of Christ as an unintended consequence.
@RichStearns Damaged the reputation of Christ. I believe the damage will magnify its self in the coming years. As persecution comes upon the church it should however act as a purifier and allow the church to recover, but at great expense to her people.
Reading the headlines today regarding Mali where we have MedSend Grant Recipients. " Nearly 100 people have been killed in an attack in a village in central Mali inhabited by the Dogon ethnic group". It reminds me how dangerous difficult and dangerous this world can be.
Reading about the plight of the Rohingya people this morning. It breaks my heart. The headlines read "A million Rohingya refugees in crowded shelters with poor sanitation – ideal conditions for infections to spread." MedSend has a grant recipient nearby providing surgery and care
