@JoelMCurzon@MSScienceWizard IIRC Goodacre says the overlapping material (about half) derives from the synoptics. Was gThomas originally only synoptic material? I would guess the synoptic material was shoehorned into some different pre-existing framework.
The book is centred around the personal career of Octavian Augustus, a small-town bourgeois from the province to become the First Emperor

@JoelMCurzon gMark is so genre-defining - everyone after knows they have to follow that format. I'm guessing no earlier gospel material really went viral.
@grumpy_cat_tac@kamilkazani The world is so big, so much good and bad, but some people are just obsessed with a tiny nation with no oil, no manufacturing, no history, a few historical sites.
@Heiserite Probably I'm misinterpreting you. My point is that there is a lot of potential lawlessness currently kept in check by digital surveillance. How will voters respond when there is an act of terrorism every month? Or a flood of illegal drugs? Or a proliferation of cybercrime?
@Heiserite Sure. But scaling back surveillance isn't going to magic them away immediately. And when they increase (as they will, if only temporarily) people will be demanding governments do something.
For over a century, scholars dismissed the Gospel of John as purely theological, completely ignoring its historical value. Yet @andersonsview points to archaeological finds which change everything! 📸https://t.co/SEXjsBrtII @eerdmansbooks
“No Compulsion in Religion—No Exceptions is a landmark work in contemporary Islamic thought... One of the most coherent and courageous arguments for liberty within Islam published in recent years.”

I'm honored to be part of this fellowship.
This isn't another "peace conference" or a series of speeches. It's an active partnership between the David Merage Foundation for Confronting Antisemitism, 1000 Media, and @nasdaily to enable 50 creators — 25 Jewish, 25 Muslim — to do real work in memory of Zaki Djemal.
Each of us brings our own story, interests, and strengths.
Mine are tech, systems, and practical problem-solving. I'll be looking at this work from that angle: useful tools, better habits, how platforms shape incentives, how narratives spread, and where practical action can reduce harm.
This won't be about party politics. That's not the path I'm choosing here.
I also stepped back from @moghaoui and political posting — my account wasn't exactly blooming anyway and this definitely feels like a better use of the time.
Any future success in this new chapter has to belong to the communities we're building.

New channels across social media — @mofixesnothing — launching soon.
It's not about politics. It's about fixing nothing.
And yeah, "nothing" is a Seinfeld bit — but we're never too old to keep trying to fix it.
