Love you all. Enjoy your Sunday.
“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrew 13:21
Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
Jesus Christ was scourged for me…
“Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.” - Matthew 27-26
I was just reading that in Roman flogging, they’d use a leather whip which had pieces of bones and metal on the end, designed to rip away at the flesh. Often the flogging itself would kill the person.
I can only think about those moments, when Jesus took on this painful brutality. He also knew He would soon be crucified on the cross to take on Himself all the sins of the world.
And He did it without complaint.
The reality is that in perfect love, the perfect Son of God did this for me and my sins; He did this for my daily fallings and failures. He did this so that I will have eternal life through Him and with Him. What a beautiful Truth!
We can go to this cross and find forgiveness, peace, hope, humility, faith, and eternal life with Jesus Christ.
That what Jesus did for us would not be something to only remember once a year on Good Friday, but every breathing second of our lives.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” - Isaiah 53: 5-6
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:19-20
