@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants The sales are proof the remake isn’t doing well and until you come with evidence to the contrary my position is that it sucks in comparison because it’s fan service slop. You’re right the pixel remasters never go on sale but Rebirth always does. I have to get back to work.
Nobody wanted a hack and slash remake, shonen voiced Red XIII, dementors, or multiverse shenanigans in all the years prior. It’s was never uttered. Not in any forums, not in any major threads.
I thought this was a satire post at first... but ya'll actually serious!? 🤣
Personally if after petitioning and praying for a Final Fantasy Remake for nearly a decade. The ONLY deliverable was 'slightly better graphics'... bruh.
Square made a way better choice 💯
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants If they wouldn’t have expanded on that like they did, nobody would have cared. Not in any tangible, sales altering way. Just because people like what they did there doesn’t mean it was necessary and one somewhat good thing doesn’t negate the awful. Easy to argue from your perch.
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants Okay let me make it real clear: the OG was better as a piece of art, the remakes are fan service slop. Ratings and award don’t matter because zeitgeist reason but here is a clear metric. The pixel remasters outsold rebirth. And even if those numbers aren’t super accurate, E33 did
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants Also my stance is very clear. There was a degree of art to the OG that isn’t here with the remakes. The remakes are pure fan service slop and every beat has a moment where it just winks at you. It’s commercial trash vs OG art. Sorry to burst your bubble.
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants I appreciate your dissertation but surely you can’t think Dyne’s arc was handled properly. I argue Jesse didn’t need any expansion. Generally subtle doesn’t always equate good but the subtlety that was lost is primarily what makes FF7r bad at its core.. and a few horrible changes
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants They serve a purpose but unnecessarily so. Pretty much the way everything was done was worse, down to the camera angles even. And the argument that revelation has to come for Aerith’s death to hit home is absurd. Even in the OG’s limited ability it struck a hard blow Rb missed.
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants The NPCs didn’t need it either. What a complete waste of time Johnny was. Charley is a huge waste of hard drive and space. They took a film and turned it into an anime series and it sucks ass in comparison. All subtlety lost.
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants Your assessment implies we needed any of that. Cait Siths betrayal was plenty evident in the game and his arc was fully wrapped. It made sense and the scope was appropriate. Yuffie’s story had zero to do with the main beats and was great lore expansion as it was.
@speedboom54@Japanesechipmnk It’s easy to say “I did” after the 2nd game is released. I’m happy to concede, to that individual, if they can show me timestamped proof they wanted this before the official announcement.
@ChurchBoi198@FFPeasants A mostly 1:1 remake with way better graphics, some expanded lore content, extra endgame content and pre-point of no return things to do. No DMC/KH battle system, no Goten Red XIII, no dancing Turks, no dementors, no multiverse timelines, no failed Aerith death, no failed dyne arc
@enut1240155@AHalfNickel Cool story man but until my game releases you have no idea what they title is about. I can guarantee it doesn’t mean what you think it means.
