Here's Lincoln, IL's NEXRAD this afternoon. It was juiced up by all the spraying of nanoparticles and use of DEWs. The blue dot tentacles of this (and every NEXRAD) extend well beyond the 100 nautical miles shown as the outer circle.

Here, I zero in on the upper left quadrant to show in slow motion as the line of storms are created. The storm cell will emerge only if there is a blue dot (part of the NEXRAD).
