Funny how things age. Back in 2022, before becoming Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh mocked the government for granting citizenship to footballer Lee Tuck.

Saying we “spend billions on men’s interests but peanuts for children” and mocked that “stateless kids must play football before authorities care.”

Now, under her own government, seven “heritage” players get fast-tracked citizenship = with far murkier documents leading to FIFA calling us cheaters.

So when others did it, it was injustice. When her side does it, it’s national pride. Principles seem to vanish fast.

Which part is the miscommunication?

Three days ago, MIC deputy president M. Saravanan criticized DBKL’s flimsy “Malaysia Madani” tents for the Deepavali bazaar in Brickfields, noting traders had to pay RM2,500 deposits even though the tents could blow away in the wind.

The next morning, heavy rain and wind proved him right as several collapsed, snarling traffic. Today, the Federal Territories Minister claimed it was merely a “miscommunication” between DBKL and Bank Rakyat, promising sturdier replacements.

What he didn’t explain is how a “miscommunication” produced such cheap, fragile tents while charging traders hefty deposits. Anyone could see they were poorly built and wouldn’t survive heavy rain.

So where exactly was the miscommunication?

Never mind. Madani assumes the public will believe even the most illogical excuses.

The KDN Minister’s reply in Parliament last month actually confirmed that the viral video was genuine.

If the video had really been fake, the simple answer would have been: “that’s slander” or “an AI-generated video.”

But when the minister only said it was merely an internal audit issue and a party administration problem, he indirectly admitted that the money - alleged dirty funds from the tycoon, which couldn’t be banked in or audited, as claimed by the PKR leader in the video - did in fact exist.

That’s why those who are truly corrupt would never put dirty money into a bank account - let alone one under their own name, while even asking BNM and the banks to monitor it.

National debt decreasing, but interest on old debt increasing?

Only the most naive, gullible people would believe this.

The logic of that headline is laughable.

How can you claim national debt is going down while at the same time admitting interest on old debt is going up?

Interest is paid on the principal — if the principal debt is reduced, the interest should also go down.

If interest payments are rising, that’s proof the principal debt is actually getting bigger, not smaller.

And it’s not as if the old governments like BN under Najib or PN suddenly came back in 2023, 2024, and 2025 to add more principal debt.

So, who exactly has been increasing the principal debt?

There is no such situation where the principal shrinks but interest on the old debt goes up.
