@lsullivanwrites I know, I’ve always been impressed by your writing!
I’d love to write fantasy because it’s probably my fave genre as a reader, but the idea of layering worldbuilding over plot + character feels like it would make my brain melt to keep it all straight ...
My anxiety is so much better since I started writing fiction, because instead of fixating on real things, I escape into my characters world.
Downside: This weekend I completely missed Fathers Day because my brain was gone ... 🥴
@kylaroma@kylaroma it’s a contemporary second chance romance set it Boston. It might never see the light of day but the writing process is bringing me such creative joy!
This is how “I’ll just write this email to a friend” turned into a 7000 word blog post and outline for a full length indie book. And I *can’t stop thinking about it*
In typical ADHD fashion, I’m dealing with a project that has become overwhelming by adding even more work to the project, which then makes the overall project more interesting to my brain.
Sounds wild, but hey, ADHD be wild.
LOVED this gender swapped “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” retelling from @authorandiej. A clever conflict of relationship vs career, and the characters chemistry was 🌶 🌶🌶
Sometimes I think, “don’t worry, the grownups will come up with a great solution!”
And then the sinking realization hits: “Oh shit, we ARE the grownups.” 😬
What does my kid want to be when he grows up?
A red rainbow 🌈
His preschool teacher said she asked him 3x over a few hours to be sure, he was adamant about it.
GUYS I WANNA BE A RED RAINBOW TOO

Is anyone sick of the never-ending pressure to make more, do more, and be more? To grow and evolve and get better every single day? To always try to be the best at everything? And to document your entire life’s journey on social media for the world to see?
Because I am. 🤗
The plot involved prejudice based on the characters’ class, weight & sexuality, including on-page sexual assault, that in a lesser author’s hands could have been heavy-handed ... but never crossed the line to preachy. This novel is a pure delight.
Just finished “Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake” by @quicunquevult ... I didn’t know I needed a British Bake-off romance, but I loved every minute. Perfect development, memorable characters, and I now can casually drop “sesquipedalian” in a conversation. Not to mention ...
Finally reading Scoundrel of my Heart after it made the @FatedMates Best of 2021, and the plot is just as much of a wild rollercoaster as @sarahmaclean promised. Way more jaw-dropping plot twists than I expect from a historical. And damn can Lorraine Heath write a steamy scene!
