UN General Assembly ADOPTS United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, strengthening international cooperation for combating such crimes committed by means of ICT systems and sharing of evidence
The resolution was adopted without a vote
I welcome the landmark adoption of the new Cybercrime Convention by the #UNGA.
As the first anti-crime treaty in 20 years, this is a major win for multilateralism.

International legal cooperation is vital to disrupt trafficking networks, gather evidence & protect victims.
But challenges exist.

During the training, UNODC organized a field visit to Kampala's Multiple Inland Container Depot 🇺🇬 Participants applied their skills in hands-on inspections of timber shipments, practicing risk profiling, wood species ID, crime scene management and evidence collection techniques.
🚢🪵UNODC organized a 5-day Regional Training on Timber Shipment Inspections and Risk Assessment with customs, forestry, and CITES management authorities from 12 African countries to enhance capacities to combat timber trafficking and enforce CITES regulations 🤝
