PARENT:
Why is my child failing?
TEACHER:
They don’t pay attention to anything we do in class. I’ve been trying to reach you to see how we can work together to solve this issue.
ADMIN TO TEACHER:
What can you do to motivate this student to pay attention in your class?
😔🙄😡
All players want to play. But so few get in the gym and really work, and that’s the difference. Can’t shoot, work. Can’t dribble, work. Stats do not lie. Work. Really work. Your coach shouldn’t have to beg you to work on your own and shoot on your own.
Congrats to each and everyone of these young ladies and their coaches. 4a D1 STATE CHAMPIONS. Yes, they are the best and have the hardware to prove it. We are all so proud.
Everyone wants to be a national champion.
Not everyone is a starter.
If you are on your scout team, are you fulfilling your role and giving a national championship effort?
Every role matters.
Great quote from Kirby Smart:
"Just hard work. We don’t run from hard work; our kids don’t run from work.
As long as you don't have entitlement in your program, you got a shot.”
Kelvin Sampson on young people maturing
“The first step on the ladder of success is always failure. Immature people don’t deal well with failure and immature people don’t understand that there is going to be failure.”

Michael Jordan was once asked what he thought his best skill was.
He didn’t say it was his ability to dunk from the free throw line or his scoring ability.
His answer: “I was coachable. I was a sponge and aggressive to learn.”
The easier you are to lead, the further you’ll go.
Talent won’t matter if it’s selfish or if it listens to everyone else besides the people in the locker room. Talent won’t matter unless it plays together. The level of talent on a team is worthless if everyone plays for themselves. If you want to WIN, it has to be about the TEAM!
Players that change a program are high on accountability and low on entitlement.
Players that are challenges for a program are high on entitlement and low on accountability.
"If you love kids enough, you're going to discipline them. I can't imagine not disciplining kids; it would be then that I don't care." -Summitt
Discipline is a coach holding you to a higher standard than you hold yourself to. It's something your coach is doing for you NOT to you.
Nick Saban sends a strong message to his players after a 52-49 loss to Tennessee:
“We can’t continue to tolerate guys that aren’t doing the things they need to do to be successful. Nobody is entitled to a position.”
Which players do you think Nick could be talking about here?
