@TVEnnui This is what I've BEEN saying when ppl say "oh they were unhappy for too long", like BRUH then you should have a problem with S1 as well bc the story beats were the SAME.
@AmelleKyre@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Very opposite emotions to the carriage and mirror scenes from the show. I can understand people have different preferences. I like sweetness with my passionate scenes, so I preferred the show version.
@AmelleKyre@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Ah, gotcha. I read the book once and a while ago so I don't remember too much about Colin's mindset when it came to sex but I do remember their first time being after an explosive fight about LW. And the carriage scene happening after he found out she was LW, so also angry/angsty
@AmelleKyre@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Pen declared her love for him, which he had been doubting that whole time, so it was out of passion and desperation for her.
@AmelleKyre@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Yeah, I think it's completely against Colin's character to have angry sex. He views their intimacy as sacred, which is why after their wedding he doesn't touch her while they are in a bad place. I do think the modiste make out was more bc he had been drinking &
@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Also I think the entrapment line bothered ppl which surprised me bc a) it's the least objectionable thing anyone has said/done in this show and b) it actually made SENSE given the context and story thus far, like why are we pretending Colin wasn't lied to YET AGAIN by his fiance?
@TVEnnui@garethstclairs Yeah that part is WILD to me, like did we read the same book?? He was SO angry with her, to a scary degree. Agreed, if they had angry sex I don't think it would have been an issue, although we did get an angry make out session which I thought was super hot lol
@TVEnnui@garethstclairs And given the angst from the first 2 seasons AND QC, I thought s3 was actually pretty mild with it. It's the classic Polin double standard, everything that was ok before is not ok with them.
@TVEnnui@garethstclairs yeah this take made no sense to me because that angst was also in the book. Yet some book lovers were pissed about it... But even if you never read the book (I didn't before the season came out), it makes sense if u paid attention. Also its bton and shonda, ofc there'd be angst..
@polincarriage It's actually psychotic. They're in a hate bubble and the second they step out they can't handle it and then double down with these crazy takes. It's not worth engaging with, honestly. They feed off of it bc their fandoms are so dry
"Like Penelope and Colin's romance, Francesca and Michaela's will be one of familiarity, of seeing someone in a new light. They do have alot in common."
Hannah Dodd about the similarities between Franchaela and Polin.
