As a FA that for about 30 years has been watching either @CNBC or @BloombergTV and appreciate the work their reporters do here is my small attempt to give props to some of them since financial news journalists don’t always get the same publicity or recognition as political reporters. Setting aside whether that attention is even warranted, given how reporting on politics is often full of bias and hidden power grabs - anyways here are some of the anchors/reporters I trust for their knowledge, professionalism, and ability to report without injecting politics or bias:
1-Santoli @michaelsantoli
2-Faber @davidfaber
3-Ferro @FerroTV
4-Lee @MelissaLeeCNBC
5-Abramowicz @lisaabramowicz1
6-Burger @daniburgz
7-Evans @KellyCNBC
Michael Gapen on Warsh outsourcing monetary policy to financial markets:
"Look, my biggest disagreement in all of this is his analogy of, we want the market to play the ball, not the referee. The Fed is not the referee in this. The referee sets the rules, and forces the rules, is an impartial arbiter. And the referee doesn't care who wins the game.
The Fed cares who wins the game. The Fed has goals and objectives in this. The Fed is a player on the field. The rest of the market cannot play the ball without knowing how the Fed might play the ball.
So I think it's the wrong analogy. I don't think it's credible to say the market is telling us what it thinks about the data and the economy without thinking about how we think about the economy. So that's where I would strongly disagree on that stance."
