Installing @openclaw as a non-technical marketer

I gave OpenClaw a run for its money (it's free tho) and I remembered why I picked marketing in the first place: I suck at technical opps

using an old Asus laptop from 2016 that got me through uni wasn't exactly helpful either

so I read all the X threads, watched all the YT videos, got pretty confident, but then I ran into my first error

OpenClaw wouldn't install on my laptop, at least not through the traditional cmd prompt / powershell environmenmt

so I switched to Ubuntu. at this point, I was combining 3-5 tutorials' just to figure out how to finish this setup

I went with @OpenRouter's API key, and I obviously picked the cheapest model: MiniMax 2.5 (first mistake?!), then I made my first Telegram bot, and connected it to my openclaw setup

at this point, all I wanted to do is to see that dashboard. that was the finish line for me, and I got there, but hold on... just as I passed the finish line, I got another error: my gateway token wasn't there, so the chat wasn't responding to my excitement "HEY CLAW" (no reply)

I fixed that (the token was in the link lol), and then I started using OpenClaw via telegram. I (thought I) created my first agent that was supposed to send me a summary of the latest news in various topics that I follow

the next morning, I get no message at 9 AM, the time when the agent was supposed to send me the summary. the cron job was there, everything was looking good, but still nothing.

I figured I need to give it an API key for a browser so it can search the internet freely. at this point I realized I just made a very basic Chat GPT at home... ALL THIS EFFORT for a below average chatbot.

it still needs to be properly configured, I'm well aware of that, and I'm still curious to figure out how to make it work and extract as much value as possible out of it... but a clear conclusion that I got out of this experience is: the company who manages to do this as friendly as possible, in terms of setting it up and using it, is definitely going to have THE edge over all.

I'm looking at you @claudeai! I have high hopes!
