Restrictions were imposed on paying homage to Late Shaheed AG Lone Sahib, and our Party President @sajadlone was placed under house arrest simply for attempting to visit and pay respects to his late father. It is deeply unfortunate that even remembrance and tribute are now being subjected to restrictions.

Never before has the country or state witnessed a political party being prevented from honoring and remembering its founding leader. Such actions not only hurt democratic sentiments but also undermine the basic dignity attached to paying homage to those who shaped political thought and public life through sacrifice and struggle.

Shaheed AG Lone Sahib’s legacy belongs to the people, and no restrictions can erase the respect and admiration people continue to hold for him.

I remember in 2015 I cast my vote in Rajya Sabha. Our party did not have a candidate but the ruling alliance requested us to have an agent of their choice. The said person was a non MLA and checked my vote and that of my colleague and fellow MLA @bashirdaradv

It seems highly improbable that PDP or NC did not know the rules.
Appointment of agents is the most important step in these elections.

The rules are clear as enunciated by @umerjournalist in a tweet. There is no ambiguity. And a party can appoint an agent, whether the party fields a candidate or not. The only time when you can’t appoint agent is when the party does not want to appoint an agent.

That NC did not insist on appointment of agents and PDP simply did not appoint agents hints at a much bigger spread in match fixing.

The RTI by @umerjournalist strongly indicates that at least three parties BJP, NC and PDP, were a part of the Rajya Sabha match fixing. And that BJP could
not have won the Rajya Sabha seat without the support of NC and PDP.

Good luck to the people of Kashmir. Unfortunately the joke is on them.

The allegations made by Minister @sakinaitoo on the floor of assembly against @parawahid are deeply disturbing & cannot be brushed aside as routine political rhetoric.

She has raised serious questions about alleged links of Waheed with militants, alleged double-dealing with agencies, references to dreaded militant Abu Dujana who died 1 August 2017, was an Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind militant, former Lashkar-e-Taibacommander and Pakistani national who was killed in a joint anti-militant operation in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Dujana was Lashkar-e-Taiba's chief commander for the Kashmir Valley. He was listed among the most-wanted in Jammu and Kashmir for several attacks on security forces. He was an A+++ category militant and carried a reward of ₹1,500,000(US$18,000) on his head.

She also alleged business interests in the form of cold storages on the name of Waheed in Lassipora Pulwama & even claims Waheed was never in jail, he was comfortably staying in a hotel while selling the story of imprisonment.

These are not ordinary accusations, these touch the very core of Kashmir’s painful history of violence, manipulation & loss of innocent lives.

What makes it even more serious is the period in which BJP and PDP was in alliance. If someone sitting within the political system was allegedly playing all sides at once, it raises grave questions that go far beyond party politics.

These allegations deserve introspection and a transparent time bound & independent probe. Kashmir has suffered too much because of hidden games and double roles. Truth must come out whoever it may affect.

This is a new low. The accidental deputy CM disdainfully and distastefully mocked at and made fun of NC legislator @Drveeri sahib’s emotional moments in the assembly yesterday. I have my differences with Dr Veeri. But as a human being, I hold him on high esteem. And at a personal level, not at a political level I take exception to this shameless behaviour.

The Deputy CM is a habitual offender and has now become an embarrassment for the Legislative Assembly. His alleged autonomy to abuse and embarrass is not too strategic to not be deciphered.

In 2019 everything was taken away from us. And punitive measures were taken against the people of J and K in the name of law and order. Telephone networks were barred. Curfew was imposed for days. Most of the political leaders were jailed. I was jailed too. @Drveeri was jailed too. Have seen him go through lot of stress in the jail.

And it seems that Deputy CM is a gift our CM sahib has given to the people of J and K for enduring hardships, for Five years, post 2019.

This deputy CM actually needs a serious coaching session in basic manners. Legislative courtesy and propriety would have demanded immediate sacking.

But that would be expecting too much. Hope CM sahib shows some humility and intervenes to end this non stop embarrassment

Sajad Lone slams introduction of ‘Pro-Elite’ Land Lease Bill, Questions relief for Kashmir's poor

Demands answers on Govt land leases while calling out silence in Assembly

Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone on Wednesday raised serious concerns over the government’s handling of a private member bill seeking extension of expired leases on government land, criticising the administration for allowing its passage without opposition and alleging that it overwhelmingly favours Kashmir’s super elite while excluding the underprivileged.

Lone underlined the massive financial stakes involved, stating that the bill pertains to some of the most valuable real estate in Kashmir, which he estimated to be worth between ₹70,000 crore and ₹1 lakh crore or even more.

He remarked that the nature of the assets involved makes it evident that the primary beneficiaries are the wealthiest sections, intensifying concerns over equity and intent.

While clarifying that he is not opposed to the bill in principle, Lone strongly questioned its selective benefit structure. He drew a sharp contrast between affluent leaseholders and lakhs of poor families who have constructed modest homes on 2 to 3 marlas, or at most a kanal, and continue to face daily uncertainty and administrative pressure without any form of legislative protection.

He questioned whether these vulnerable sections, who have remained exposed for decades, do not deserve similar legal safeguards.

Raising the issue of transparency, Lone pointed out that key questions he posed in the Assembly remain unanswered, including the total extent of government land leased out in kanals and the actual lease revenue collected from beneficiaries over the years.

He termed the silence on these fundamental details deeply concerning, calling for greater accountability and a more inclusive approach to policymaking.

I visited several snow bound areas of the Kupwara & Trehgam constituencies & found a disturbing situation on the ground. In many areas no snow clearance has been carried out, & power restoration has not taken place. Trehgam has been without electricity & drinking water for the last four days.

While people continue to suffer in harsh winter conditions, the elected representatives remain confined to their bungalows in Jammu.

I have formally taken up the matter with the district administration & demanded immediate snow clearance with restoration of road connectivity, electricity, & water supply within the next 24 hours.
