@Used_To_Be_GOP@seanhannity You are so disrespectful! In the face of such a disaster and the sacrifice of human life, it‘s too bad that you can make up such a ”joke“ with it.

A carefully planned approach would be to proactively adjust the voltage at night, before the peak daytime heat arrives. This could help prevent a full-scale power outage. Even if a brief localized outage is necessary to perform the adjustment, it would cause far less disruption to residents overall.
A sudden blackout during extreme heat
—such as 105°F—can lead to heat-related illnesses and even become life-threatening for vulnerable individuals. In many densely populated Asian cities like Singapore, Tokyo, and Beijing, utilities do not resort to cutting power on the hottest summer days, let alone implementing rolling blackouts twice in a row, which is exactly what my area experienced yesterday.
Power was cut twice in my
neighborhood yesterday: 2:30pm-5:30pm, then again 7:30pm-10:00pm.
First time in my entire life I've
experienced rolling blackouts like this.
I told my relatives in Beijing - they were stunned.
A lot of my neighbors are elderly with medical conditions. I still can't believe they had to go through this in 109°F
heat. Some people sat in their cars just to charge their phones and stay cool.
We've had hot summers before, but never this kind of "energy saving" nonsense.
New York is starting to feel like a 3rd world country.
