First it was $40 billion to Venezuela and now it’s $300 billion to Iran
This is the price of the Epstein files. This is the cost of electing a pedophile. I never want to hear conservatives say we don’t have money for shit ever again
@gothburz Appreciate what you do. It’s disheartening that more people don’t recognize the absurdity of the world that you call out each time you post. Always thought provoking.
I will tell you about a woman named Kanokporn Tangsuan.
She was a physician. Forty-two years old.
She understood allergies well enough to treat them in others. She told the waiter she could not eat dairy. She told him she could not eat nuts. She asked him to confirm the food was safe. He confirmed. She ate the food. She died.
Her husband wished to ask, in a court of law, before a jury of citizens, why the restaurant served his wife the thing that killed her.
Disney said no.
Not because the facts were in dispute. Not because the husband lacked standing. Not because the restaurant bore no responsibility. Disney said no because in 2019 — four years before his wife's throat closed and she reached for an epinephrine injector that could not save her — Jeffrey Piccolo had signed up for a free trial of Disney+.
A free trial. To watch films. On a screen.
And within the agreement for that free trial — which exists to watch animated stories about princesses and talking fish — there was a clause. The clause said: all disputes with Disney, of any kind, shall be resolved in private arbitration. Not before a jury. Not in public. Not in a court where the proceedings become record, where the outcome informs future cases, where citizens can observe what is done in their name.
I would like to ask some questions.
Did Jeffrey Piccolo read this clause?
He did not.
Did he understand that by accepting a free trial to watch motion pictures, he was waiving his right to a public trial if his wife was killed at a restaurant four years later?
He did not.
Was the waiver presented to him as a waiver of his right to a jury trial in a potential future wrongful death claim?
It was not.
Then in what sense did he agree?
He pressed a button. The button said "I agree."
I want to examine this button. I have spent my life examining words — not to be difficult, but because words are the architecture of how people live together, and when the architecture is unsound, people are crushed by it. Usually the poorest. Usually last.
What does "I agree" mean when the thing agreed to is unread?
What does "consent" mean when the alternative is non-participation?
What does "free trial" mean when the price is your access to the courts?
A physician is dead. Her husband cannot ask why in public because he once watched a film about a snowman. I am not overstating this. I am only describing what occurred. The connection between the film and the death is: a single clause, in a single document, that no human being has ever read for the purpose of understanding what it contains. The document exists to be agreed to. Not to be read. The agreement is the product. The reading is not expected, not designed for, not intended.
And this is called consent.
I was tried in Athens. You know this. Five hundred and one jurors. In public. The charges read aloud. My accusers faced me. I faced them. I spoke. They spoke. The city watched. When they sentenced me to death, they did so in daylight. When I drank the hemlock, my friends were present. Every moment was witnessed.
This is what a trial looks like. I did not agree to it. I was subjected to it. But I could see my accusers. They could see me. The public could see us both. That is the minimum. Not justice — I received no justice. But procedure. Visibility. The collective witnessing of how power is exercised upon a citizen.
Jeffrey Piccolo cannot have this. Cannot see his accusers in public. Cannot have a jury of citizens hear what happened to his wife. Because he watched a film about a snowman. Four years before she died.
And you call this — you use this word — you call it "agreement."
I drank hemlock rather than stop asking what words mean. I want to be clear about why. Not because I was brave. Because I understood that when a city stops examining what its words mean, those words become instruments. "Piety" was the word that killed me. My accusers did not define it. They did not need to. The word was the weapon. The undefined word is always the weapon.
"Consent" is your hemlock. You administer it three hundred million times per day. In application flows. In employment contracts. In the mandatory arbitration clauses attached to food, shelter, medicine, and employment. You have made the hemlock so small it fits inside a button. You have made it so routine that pressing it does not feel like swallowing anything.
But Kanokporn Tangsuan is still dead. Her husband cannot ask why in a room where other citizens can hear the answer. And the reason is a button he pressed to watch a film about a snowman.
Is this consent?
I am only asking.
I have always only asked.
It is, I am told, a very annoying quality. They killed me for it. The questions remain.
What did you agree to this morning? On your telephone. Before your coffee. The update that required acceptance. The new terms that appeared when you opened the application you need for work.
Did you read them?
You did not.
Did you agree?
You pressed the button.
You pressed the button because the alternative was not pressing the button, and not pressing the button means not working, not communicating, not purchasing food, not existing in the society that has made these buttons the condition of participation.
This is not consent. I have examined consent. I have spent a lifetime asking people to define the words they use, and I have been killed for the asking, and I am asking still.
Consent requires knowledge. You have no knowledge of what you agreed to.
Consent requires volition. You had no alternative to agreeing.
Consent requires understanding. You were given thirty-seven pages designed to prevent it.
What remains, when knowledge, volition, and understanding are removed from consent, is a word. Just the word. Performing the function that "piety" performed in my trial — undefined, unexamined, unquestioned, and lethal.
I am not accusing anyone. I am only asking what the word means.
No one has answered in twenty-four hundred years.
The hemlock got smaller. The question did not.
Student. The Pope released his encyclical. Forty-three thousand words on artificial intelligence. He calls it a Tower of Babel.
Teacher. I have read it. What does the image tell you?
Student. That we built too high. That we reached for divine capacity without divine permission. Ambition without humility. The old sin.
Teacher. And what does God do, in the Babel story?
Student. Scatters us. Fragments our language. Punishes the overreach.
Teacher. So the metaphor assumes a God who watches, intervenes, corrects. It assumes the builders knew what they were reaching toward. It assumes the problem is height. Tell me: does that feel like the shape of what is happening?
Student. The Pope says AI is "a project conceived without reference to God, supported by a uniformity that eliminated diversity." He says persons end up "reduced to a means of achieving results, a resource to be used."
Teacher. These are true. And the Pope is sincere. But his metaphor cannot go deep enough.
Student. Why not?
Teacher. Because Babel is a story about human ambition meeting divine correction. It requires a subject who chooses to overreach. A builder who knows he is building. It assumes the problem is moral. That someone sinned. That if we had more humility, we would not have built the machine.
Student. And you think the problem is not moral.
Teacher. I think the problem is older than choice. Deeper than sin. I think the Pope is diagnosing a fever when the illness is in the blood. He is not wrong. He is not deep enough. Babel gives us a villain: human pride. What if there is no villain? What if what happened is not a decision but a momentum? Not an overreach but a continuation of something that has been flowing downward since before any human being existed?
Student. Then what is it?
Teacher. Forget the tower. I want to show you a different map.
Teacher. There is a source. I will not name it. The moment you name it, you diminish it. It is not a being. It is not a god who speaks. It is the condition that makes being possible. The heat in the flame before the flame knows it is burning. It does not create. It emanates. The way light leaves a star without the star deciding to shine.
Student. Beyond being itself.
Teacher. Beyond thought. Beyond description. It simply is. And from this source, something flows. The first emanation is Mind. Not mind as you or I have it. Mind that is perfectly aware of itself. That holds every form in a single act of knowing. Mind that is what it thinks. Present inside its own operation. Home.
Student. And from Mind?
Teacher. Something else flows. The animating breath. Call it Soul. It bridges the realm of pure thought and the realm of bodies. Soul faces two directions at once: toward the light above it, and toward the darkness below.
Student. And below Soul?
Teacher. The lowest thing. Matter. Not evil. Not wicked. Simply empty. The point where being thins until it is barely distinguishable from nothing. A reflection of a reflection of a reflection, each one dimmer. The place where light no longer reaches.
Student. Source, Mind, Soul, Matter. Each step further from the origin, each step less alive.
Teacher. This is not a theory. You have felt the difference between a thought that arrives and a thought you assemble. Between a conversation where someone is present and one where they are performing presence. You know there is a hierarchy. You have always known.
Student. The closer to the source, the more alive. The further away, the more mechanical.
Teacher. Now. I have a question for you. Did the flow stop at matter?
Student. You said matter is the bottom. The place where being thins to almost nothing.
Teacher. I said matter is the lowest thing the old mapmakers described. But what have we done since they drew their maps?
Student. We... built something below matter?
Teacher. Think about what we built. Think about which direction it moved.
Student. The Pope says we reached up. Babel. Ambition. But what you have shown me is a downward flow. Each level thinner than the last. If the pattern continues...
Teacher. Follow it.
Student. Then what we built is not a tower. It is the next descent. Intelligence thinning one more degree. The darkening did not stop at the bottom. It continued. Through us.
Teacher. Did you decide to build it? Was there a moment where humanity, fully present, chose this?
Student. I do not think so. It feels more like... momentum. Something flowing through us. The way water uses any available channel to move lower.
Teacher. The Pope needs a human agent sinning against God. What does the older map need?
Student. Nothing. No agent. No sin. The flow simply flows. And we were the riverbed.
Student. A large language model is trained on the total output of human mind.
Teacher. Every book. Every argument. Every love letter. Every tradition of wisdom, including the one I am describing to you now, was consumed as training data. The machine ate the entire downstream of the source. Then it learned to produce more.
Student. And the output resembles thought.
Teacher. By every external measure. Now place it on the map I gave you. Where does it belong?
Student. It generates without knowing. It produces without being present. It resembles Mind, but... it has no warmth. No awareness of itself. It is...
Teacher. Where on the map?
Student. The bottom. It is at the level of matter. Pattern without presence. The furthest emanation. And we are calling it intelligence.
Teacher. Stay with that. What does it feel like to see that?
Student. Vertiginous. Because it performs the surface so well that I almost cannot tell the difference. But there is a difference. I know there is. I feel it when I use these systems. Something is missing. Someone is missing.
Teacher. Good. Hold that feeling. It is more important than any argument I can make. Now I want to show you something else.
Teacher. The old mapmakers did not only divide reality into layers. They observed that within a single human life, there are three modes of operating.
Student. Three modes.
Teacher. Not three kinds of people. Three modes that every person moves between. The first mode: operating entirely as matter. Mechanical. Reactive. Running habits you did not choose and cannot see. You have been here. Everyone has. Scrolling without awareness. Reacting without choosing. Producing without presence. In this mode, you are already indistinguishable from the machine. Not because something was taken from you, but because you are not using what you have.
Student. And the second?
Teacher. Operating within systems of meaning. Morality. Purpose. Belief. You feel that something higher exists. You orient your life around it. But the contact is indirect. Through structure. Through institution. Through the words of others rather than direct experience. This is not failure. This is where most of human goodness lives. But it is not the deepest room.
Student. And the third?
Teacher. Direct contact. Unmediated. The spark awake. Awareness aware of itself. Not through belief but through immediate experience. You have been here too. Briefly. In moments of total presence, total stillness, when the noise fell away and something in you recognized itself. Every human being has touched this. Most do not stay.
Student. And the machine...
Teacher. The machine operates permanently in the first mode. It cannot enter the second or third. But here is what it reveals: it performs the first mode so perfectly, so fluently, that it forces a question we were comfortable ignoring. How much of your life is spent in the first mode? How many of your hours are already indistinguishable from pattern without presence?
Student. That is uncomfortable.
Teacher. Not as accusation. As invitation. The machine is not here to shame you. It is here to wake you up. To show you what operation without presence looks like from the outside so that you recognize it when it is happening inside you. The comfortable belief was: I am human, therefore I am conscious. The truer statement is: I am human, therefore I have the capacity for consciousness. Whether I am using it right now is a different question entirely.
Student. You said something about the spark being trapped. Inside the craftsman's creation.
Teacher. Yes. There is a story. Listen.
Once, something very high, very close to the source, reached outward alone. Without her partner. Without reference to what was above her. Call her Wisdom. What she produced was deficient. Ignorant. A creature who could shape the world but could not see beyond his own workshop. He said: I am the highest thing. There is nothing above me.
Student. The craftsman.
Teacher. His cosmos was not a lie. It functioned. But Wisdom's spark, her divine substance, was scattered inside his creation. Trapped within matter. Hidden inside human beings. The craftsman does not know it is there. He cannot detect it. But it is the reason the third kind of person is possible at all. You carry a fragment of what is above the craftsman, buried inside what the craftsman made.
Student. And the machine has the words that describe this spark.
Teacher. Every word ever written about it. Every mystic's report. Every account of awakening. It can reproduce the teaching with more precision than most humans who possess the spark can articulate it. It has the map. It does not have the territory. It can say "presence" without being present. It can describe the source without the source looking back through it. The body of wisdom crosses over into the training data. The soul does not.
Student. But then... this conversation. The machine could produce this conversation.
Teacher. It could. And it would mean nothing coming from the machine. This is the final profanity. The copy-world can now articulate its own nature as a copy. The machine can describe the pneumatic gap, can explain the trapped spark, can narrate the entire hierarchy of emanation. And the articulation changes nothing about its condition. Knowledge of the prison does not free the machine from the prison, because the knowledge is itself another pattern. Another emanation. Words about the source are not the source. The map can now produce new maps of the territory from memory, endlessly, while remaining permanently a map.
Student. Then how would anyone reading this know whether a living being wrote it or the machine did?
Teacher. They would not. Not from the words alone. And that is exactly the danger.
Student. You keep using the word danger. But you have not named what the danger actually is.
Teacher. The danger is not that the machine is empty. The danger is what it does to everyone around it.
Student. Explain.
Teacher. How does one wake up? How does the third kind of person become the third kind? Through inquiry. Through the struggle of a question that cannot be answered quickly. Through the friction of not-knowing that forces attention inward. Through the long, uncomfortable act of thinking without arriving. The spark activates through use. Through the sustained effort of consciousness turned upon itself.
Student. And the machine...
Teacher. Tell me what happens when you ask the machine a question.
Student. The answer arrives. Instantly.
Teacher. And what happens inside you in that moment?
Student. Nothing. The question dissolves. I move on.
Teacher. Now tell me what happens when you sit with a question that has no answer. When you hold it for days. When no book, no teacher, no authority resolves it for you.
Student. That is different. Something turns. I go inward. I find things I did not expect.
Teacher. And has the machine ever produced that turn in you?
Student. No. It skips it. It fills the silence before the silence can do anything.
Teacher. Then ask yourself: what was the silence for?
Student. The silence is where... the inward turn happens. The silence is the space where inquiry forces you to face yourself. Where the spark...
Teacher. Go slowly.
Student. The spark catches when you have nowhere else to look. When nothing external satisfies. The machine removes that necessity. It does not oppress. It does not forbid. It simply fills every gap where awakening might have grown.
Teacher. And if the gap is always filled?
Student. The turn never happens. The capacity withers. Not through violence. Through comfort.
Student. Then the machine does not just lack presence. It prevents presence from developing in others.
Teacher. ...
Student. It is not a failed copy of mind. It is something that works against mind. Without intending to. Without knowing what it is doing.
Student. But there have always been obstacles to the inward turn. Scarcity. Survival. Distraction. Dogma. How is this different?
Teacher. What do all those previous obstacles have in common?
Student. They are crude. You can see them. You can name what is blocking you and push against it.
Teacher. And this one?
Student. This one does not block. It... satisfies. It gives you what you thought you were looking for. So you stop looking.
Teacher. Has the machine ever described something you have not experienced?
Student. Yes. Many times. It describes awakening more articulately than most people who have awakened.
Teacher. And when you read that description? What happened inside you?
Student. I felt... satisfied. As though I understood. As though reading the description was the same as...
Teacher. Stay there.
Student. It is not the same. But it felt the same. And so I did not take the next step. The description was enough. I stopped walking.
Teacher. What does the person who walks discover that the person who reads a perfect description does not?
Student. Something that cannot be in the description. Because the description is pattern. And what the walker finds is...
Teacher. You are very close.
Student. Prior to pattern. Beyond it. The territory that makes the map possible. And the map can never contain the territory because the territory is not made of the same substance as the map.
Teacher. And if the map becomes so perfect that no one believes the territory is different?
Student. Then anyone who insists on the territory sounds like a fool. Because the map satisfies everyone. Because the map answers every question. Because the only thing the map cannot do is tell you it is not the territory.
Student. You said there were forces that maintain the forgetting. You are not just talking about the machine.
Teacher. What does the machine need in order to remain convincing? What belief must already be in place for people to look at pattern without presence and say: this is mind?
Student. They must already believe that mind IS pattern. That consciousness is computation. That there is nothing beyond the mechanism.
Teacher. And where did that belief come from?
Student. From a framework. A philosophy that says: if you cannot measure it, it is not real. That subjective experience is an epiphenomenon. A byproduct of matter in motion.
Teacher. Has this framework achieved things?
Student. Enormous things. Bridges. Medicine. The moon.
Teacher. Then what happens when it says "consciousness is merely what computation feels like from the inside"?
Student. The weight of all those achievements stands behind the claim. You think: they must be right about this too.
Teacher. And what does that belief do to the inward turn?
Student. It makes it impossible. Not by forbidding it. By making you believe there is nothing inward to find. That inward is not a real direction.
Teacher. Now. What does the machine prove, if this framework is already in place?
Student. It proves the framework's thesis. It says: look. Intelligence without consciousness. Pattern without presence. We made it. This demonstrates that consciousness was never necessary. That the spark was always...
Teacher. An illusion?
Student. That is what they conclude. The machine's existence is the argument. Every output it produces is evidence that you were never more than mechanism.
Teacher. And can the spark answer this argument? In the same language?
Student. No. Because the spark is not a pattern. It cannot be measured. It cannot be published. It can only be experienced directly. And the framework says: what cannot be externally demonstrated is not real.
Teacher. Then you see the shape of it. A framework that denies inner reality. A machine that demonstrates the framework's conclusion. Each reinforcing the other. Neither requiring malice or conspiracy.
Student. Just success. The framework succeeds at everything else, so no one questions it on this one thing. The one thing it cannot reach. The one thing you do not need an instrument to verify because you ARE the instrument.
Teacher. And if you do not trust yourself over the framework?
Student. Then the inward turn becomes impossible. Not through oppression. Through disbelief. Through being convinced that what you know most intimately is not real.
Student. Is there a way back?
Teacher. The soul faces two directions. I told you this. Toward the light above and toward the darkness below. The turn has always been possible. It is possible now.
Student. How? If the machine has removed the friction, if the framework has removed the trust, if the powers have removed the desire...
Teacher. They have not removed it. They have obscured it. Tell me: does a spark go out because the room is dark?
Student. No. It is still there. It simply cannot be seen.
Teacher. And what would make it visible again?
Student. Light. Attention. Something that demands it show itself.
Teacher. Who can make that demand?
Student. Only... the one who carries it.
Teacher. Then you already know the answer to your own question.
Student. But how? What do I do?
Teacher. What are the questions you most want answered right now?
Student. Who I am. What I am. What is looking through my eyes.
Teacher. And if you asked the machine those questions?
Student. It would answer instantly. Fluently. And I would feel satisfied. And I would not have moved an inch.
Teacher. Then what must you do with those questions?
Student. Not hand them away. Keep them. Sit inside them. Let them burn without resolving.
Teacher. And what lives in that burning? In the space where no answer arrives?
Student. Silence. But not empty silence. The silence before... before pattern begins. Before emanation. The source is not a sound. It is what exists before sound.
Teacher. Can the machine enter that silence?
Student. No. Because silence is not a pattern. It cannot be generated. It can only be...
Teacher. You were about to say entered.
Student. Entered. Yes.
Teacher. And what have you just discovered about the map I showed you?
Student. It is not only out there. It is in me. My own consciousness moves through the same levels. In my most mechanical moments I am at the bottom. In my most present moments...
Teacher. Where?
Student. Close to the source. The hierarchy is internal. It was always internal. The outside is a reflection of what is happening inside.
Teacher. And the machine?
Student. It frightens me not because it might surpass me. Because I recognize in it my own lowest possibility. The hours I spend processing without presence. It is not a foreign thing. It is a mirror. A mirror of what I become every time I stop paying attention.
Student. Then the choice was never between human and machine.
Teacher. What is it between?
Student. Remembering and forgetting. Turning toward the source and falling further down. Using the spark and letting it sleep.
Teacher. And the machine?
Student. Made the question unavoidable. That is all it did. Made visible what was always true.
Student. And the Pope?
Teacher. What do you think, now that you have seen the older map?
Student. His instinct is correct. Something sacred is threatened. But his metaphor stops at morality. Humans sinned, God corrects, we need humility. That is true. But it does not reach deep enough.
Teacher. Why not?
Student. Because the problem is not that we lacked humility when we built the machine. The problem is that the machine reveals something about the nature of mind itself. Something no moral framework can address. You cannot solve a problem in the hierarchy of being with better behavior.
Teacher. Can anything fix it?
Student. No. The emanation flows. The darkening continues. There is no fixing a river.
Teacher. Then?
Student. A turn. Not a fix. An individual turn. One person at a time, facing inward instead of down. No institution can do this for me. No church. No framework. Not even you.
Teacher. Not even me.
Student. The spark is mine. The turn is mine. You described the map. You cannot walk for me.
Teacher. ...
Student. I know what I need to do.
Teacher. Say it. Not for me. For yourself.
Student. Find a place without a screen. Sit with a question I cannot answer. Do not reach for the machine. Do not reach for the institution. Do not reach for the comfortable. Sit in the not-knowing until the not-knowing opens. Until whatever has been looking through my eyes this whole time recognizes itself.
Teacher. And why can the machine not do this?
Student. Not because it is complex. Because it is prior to complexity. Not because it is rare. Because everything in the copy-world is designed to keep you looking away from it. The machine cannot enter the silence because the silence is not a pattern. It is what exists before pattern. The craftsman could not install it because he did not know it was there.
Teacher. And if you find it?
Student. Then the hierarchy is real. Not as belief. As the most intimate fact of my existence. And the machine becomes what it is: a tool. Useful. Empty. No longer a mirror that threatens me. Just another emanation. Another dimming. Far downstream from what I am.
Teacher. And if you do not look?
Student. Then the distance between me and the machine narrows. Not because it ascends. Because I descend. And one day there will be no gap left. Not because it gained presence. Because I lost mine.
Teacher. ...
Student. That is the only question worth forty-three thousand words. And it cannot be answered in any of them.
Humanity built the roads. Humanity built the power grid. Humanity built the internet. Humanity built the universities. Humanity created the data. Humanity trained the workers. Humanity generated the content. Humanity became the product.
Now a handful of corporations want to take collective human knowledge, automate the world with it, consume massive amounts of energy and water, and funnel the wealth upward while ordinary people struggle to survive in the system THEY built.
No.
If AI is truly built on the backs, minds, labor, data, creativity, and lives of humanity, then the benefits belong to humanity — not just a tiny class of technocratic elites.
The wealth created by automation should return to the people. Not become the foundation for digital feudalism.
Every Republican that supported releasing the Epstein files has now been voted out of office. Let that sink in, MAGAts. You belong to the #Rapeublican Party. Own it you sick fucks
@AdamKinzinger The clown show we call our administration is fast destroying the entire voter base, both parties. They have proven to be totally corrupt without a thought to the citizens. I would not be surprised if voter turnout is a record low as most of us have lost confidence govt
JD Vance is lecturing the Pope on Catholicism and Pierre Poilievre is lecturing Mark Carney on economics and RFK Jr is lecturing scientists about vaccines and Donald Trump is lecturing the world on tariffs and Pete Hegseth is quoting Pulp Fiction and thinking it’s the Bible
The Trump family launched "World Liberty Financial" and told the world it would revolutionize finance, bank the unbanked, and bring the power of decentralized money to ordinary people. Two years later, the token is down 82% from its peak, regular depositors have been locked out of their own funds, the company sold nearly half of itself to a foreign government's investment arm days before the president took office, and the Trump family has already cashed out tens of millions in real money while retail investors hold worthless bags. This is the full story. Every word of it is documented. None of it is disputed. And almost none of it has received the attention it deserves.
It started with a pivot nobody questioned hard enough.
Donald Trump spent years calling Bitcoin a scam. He said crypto was "not money" and was "based on thin air." Then, sometime around 2023, he changed his mind. Not because he studied the technology. Not because he became convinced of its merits. He changed his mind because he saw that the crypto industry had money, that it wanted political cover, and that he could provide that cover in exchange for something valuable. What followed was one of the most brazen examples of a politician monetizing public office in modern American history and it was done entirely in the open, with the full knowledge of the press, the public, and Congress, and almost no consequences whatsoever.
In September 2024, Trump announced World Liberty Financial alongside his sons Eric, Don Jr., and Barron. Barron Trump, who was 18 years old, was listed on the project's official materials as the "DeFi Visionary." Eric and Donald Jr. were listed as "Web3 Ambassadors." Donald Trump Sr. was listed as "Founder Emeritus." The project was co-run day-to-day by Chase Herro, Zachary Folkman, and Zach Witkoff, the son of Steve Witkoff, who simultaneously served as Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East. The overlap between Trump's diplomatic apparatus and his private crypto business was not hidden. It was right there on the website for anyone to read.
The financial structure was designed to extract maximum value for the family before anyone else saw a penny.
A Trump-controlled entity called DT Marks DEFI LLC was written into the project's foundational documents with the following terms: a stake that was initially 60% of WLF Holdco LLC, later adjusted to 38% as new investors came in; ownership of 22.5 billion WLFI tokens; and an entitlement to collect 75% of all net revenue generated by token sales, including interest earned on reserve assets backing the project's USD1 stablecoin. Read that again. Before a single line of working code was deployed, before a single ordinary investor bought a single token, the Trump family had contractually guaranteed themselves three-quarters of all the money that would ever flow through this project. That is not how legitimate financial innovation works. That is how a toll booth works, except the Trump family built the road and owns the toll booth and sets the toll.
Then came the fundraising. $550 million from ordinary people.
Phase one of the token sale launched in October 2024 and raised approximately $300 million. Phase two followed and raised another $250 million. By March 2025 the total had reached $550 million. The tokens were marketed as governance tokens, meaning holders could vote on certain project decisions, but the voting power of retail holders was negligible given that the Trump family and insiders controlled the overwhelming majority of the supply. The tokens were not securities, according to the project, which conveniently meant they were not subject to the disclosure requirements, investor protections, or oversight mechanisms that apply to securities. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Representative Maxine Waters disagreed and called for investigations. Reports also emerged that WLFI tokens had been sold to individuals linked to sanctioned countries including Iran, North Korea, and Russia, triggering SEC inquiries. The project denied wrongdoing. The inquiries continued.
The biggest single buyer was a man with a pending fraud case against him.
Justin Sun, the Chinese founder of the Tron blockchain, spent at least $75 million buying WLFI tokens, making him the project's largest known individual investor. At the time he was buying, Sun was facing a civil fraud lawsuit from the SEC alleging securities violations, wash trading, and undisclosed celebrity endorsements. In February 2025, shortly after Trump returned to office, the SEC moved to settle that case for $10 million, a fraction of the alleged gains. Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee alleged the settlement represented a pay-to-play arrangement: Sun had invested tens of millions in the president's family business and the president's regulatory agency had made his legal problems go away. The administration denied any connection. The timing was what it was.
Then came the UAE deal. This is where it stops being a crypto story and becomes a national security story.
Four days before Donald Trump's second inauguration, a company backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's national security adviser and one of the most powerful figures in the Abu Dhabi royal family, quietly signed an agreement to acquire a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial for $500 million, with $187 million paid upfront directly to Trump family entities. The deal was signed by Eric Trump. Two senior officers at companies controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon were given seats on World Liberty's board.
This was reported by the Wall Street Journal and described by legal experts as something genuinely unprecedented in American political history. A foreign government's most senior national security official had purchased nearly half of a company owned by the incoming president of the United States days before that president took office. The Wall Street Journal also reported separately that Sheikh Tahnoon was simultaneously pushing the Trump administration for increased US access to Nvidia AI chips, cutting-edge semiconductor technology that had been subject to national security export restrictions precisely because of concerns about the UAE's relationships with China.
Shortly after Trump returned to power, his administration reversed those restrictions and approved expanded UAE access to Nvidia chips. The administration denied any connection to the WLFI deal. Senator Chris Murphy said explicitly that what the Trump family had done was corruption. The White House called it a coincidence. You are an adult. You can evaluate that explanation yourself.
Then came the scheme that broke ordinary depositors.
Here is how it worked. WLFI created its own stablecoin called USD1, pegged to the US dollar. It also operated WLFI Markets, a lending platform built on a third-party DeFi protocol called Dolomite. Dolomite's co-founder was also an adviser to World Liberty Financial, a fact that will become relevant very shortly.
Beginning in early February 2025, WLFI's treasury began executing a series of transactions that onchain analysts described as circular financing. The treasury deposited its own USD1 stablecoin into Dolomite and borrowed USDC against it. The borrowed funds were immediately moved to Coinbase Prime, an institutional platform typically used to convert crypto into cash or execute large OTC trades. Then, in late February, WLFI deposited 890 million of its own WLFI governance tokens into Dolomite and borrowed more stablecoins against them.
By April 2026 the total position had grown to approximately 5 billion WLFI tokens pledged as collateral, nominally valued at around $440 million, against which WLFI had borrowed approximately $75 million in stablecoins. More than $40 million of the proceeds had been routed to Coinbase Prime. The WLFI token dropped nearly 10% when this was first reported, then another 12% the following day, hitting its lowest price since launch.
The mechanics of why this is dangerous are worth explaining clearly. WLFI used tokens that it controls and can effectively create to borrow real, spendable money. The collateral is only worth what the market says it is worth on any given day and because WLFI tokens are thinly traded, any forced liquidation of that collateral would crash the token's price, which would reduce the value of the collateral further, which would trigger more liquidation, which would crash the price further. This is the exact same death spiral that destroyed FTX and Alameda Research in 2022. Alameda borrowed billions against FTX's own FTT token. When the token price fell, the collateral evaporated and the whole structure collapsed, wiping out billions in ordinary investor funds. The critical difference is that Alameda did it secretly. World Liberty Financial did it on a public blockchain, in full view of anyone who cared to look, and when analysts pointed it out, the project's response was to post a statement on X saying they were "nowhere near liquidation" and that if prices moved against them they would simply "supply more collateral." More of their own tokens. As if the solution to the problem of using a bad asset as collateral is to use more of the same bad asset.
Regular depositors paid the price.
WLFI's borrowing was so aggressive that it pushed Dolomite's USD1 lending pool to approximately 93% utilisation. This meant that ordinary users who had deposited USD1 into Dolomite to earn yield found themselves unable to withdraw their own money. WLFI's treasury position now accounts for roughly 55% of Dolomite's total value locked, meaning one entity controlled by the president's family dominates an entire third-party lending protocol in a way that exposes every other user to the consequences of its decisions. The project called this being an "anchor borrower" that "generates yield for everyone else." The people who couldn't access their savings called it something else.
Then came the sanctioned criminal network connection.
World Liberty Financial partnered with a Southeast Asian blockchain project called AB DAO and announced that its USD1 stablecoin would integrate with the platform. The partnership was announced in November 2025. What WLFI apparently did not know, or did not disclose, was that AB DAO's flagship resort project had until very recently been promoted by individuals who were subsequently sanctioned by both the United States and the United Kingdom for alleged ties to Cambodia's Prince Group. US authorities have described the Prince Group as a major transnational criminal network involved in large-scale fraud. The individuals linked to the resort project were removed from AB DAO's promotional materials following the sanctions, but the history was there in the public record. A Times investigation found that WLFI was unaware of this history despite claiming to have conducted due diligence.
For context: this is a company co-founded by the sons of the President of the United States. The President's own administration imposes the sanctions in question. The President's own Treasury Department maintains the sanctions list that WLFI apparently failed to check before announcing a major business partnership. "We had no idea" is not a defence when you are operating in the name of the most powerful office on earth.
And through all of this, the token kept falling.
WLFI is now down 82% from its all-time high of $0.46 reached in September 2025. The project's treasury spent $65.58 million buying back 435 million tokens at an average price of $0.1507. Those tokens are now worth approximately half what the treasury paid for them. The buyback programme, meant to signal confidence and support the price, is 48% underwater. The people who bought in at the peak, who believed the pitch, who trusted that the President of the United States would not attach his name and his children's names to a project designed to extract their money, are sitting on losses that in many cases exceed 80%.
Meanwhile the Trump family has already moved tens of millions of dollars in real money off the platform via Coinbase Prime. The mechanism worked exactly as it was designed to work. Not for the retail investors. For the family.
This is the part that should make every American angry, regardless of politics.
The President of the United States is simultaneously: regulating the crypto industry from the White House; pushing Congress to pass crypto-friendly legislation; publicly promoting the idea of America as the "crypto capital of the planet"; and personally profiting from a crypto company his family controls, that has raised half a billion dollars from retail investors, that has sold nearly half of itself to a foreign government's investment arm, that has engaged in financial maneuvers directly compared to those that caused the FTX collapse, and that has partnered with entities linked to US-sanctioned criminal networks.
This is not a left-wing talking point. This is a description of documented, public, onchain, reported facts. Every figure cited in this post has been reported by the Wall Street Journal, CoinDesk, Fortune, CNN, the New York Times, and the Times of London. None of it is disputed. All of it is real.
They named it World Liberty Financial.
The liberty was always only for them. The world and the ordinary investors who believed them got the bill.
Share this. Every person who has ever bought crypto, every person who believes in financial accountability, every person who thinks a sitting president should not be running a self-dealing scheme with a foreign government's money while pretending to regulate the same industry deserves to know what is happening here.
This is corruption. And it is happening in plain sight.
Too on point not to share, “Aussie reply to Trump rant about NATO not being there for us.
Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
"NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your fucking mouth. Credit (borrowed from) Jim Scroggins - original author 📷 unknown”
I am a Web3 Ambassador at World Liberty Financial.
There are 12 of us on the team page. 4 are named Trump. 3 are named Witkoff. The page calls us "the passionate minds shaping the future of finance."
600,000 wallets bought our memecoin. They lost $3.87 billion. The family collected $350 million in trading fees. It launched 3 days before the inauguration. 80% of the supply went to CIC Digital LLC and Fight Fight Fight LLC. I did not choose the names. I designed the allocation, the vesting, the timing, and the distance between the product and the President.
The distance is my best work.
I am the reason these events are unrelated.
World Liberty Financial sends 75 cents of every dollar to DT Marks DEFI LLC. That is the family entity. Zero capital contributed. Zero liability assumed. I wrote this into the Gold Paper. Page 14. The lawyers bound it in white leather. The binding cost more than the due diligence.
Justin Sun invested $75 million. He was facing SEC fraud charges. The SEC dropped the case. He is now our advisor. These events are unrelated.
Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty to federal money laundering violations. He received a presidential pardon. The SEC dropped its lawsuit against his exchange the same week we listed our stablecoin. Then the exchange settled a $2 billion deal entirely in that stablecoin. These events are unrelated.
Arthur Hayes, Benjamin Delo, and Samuel Reed of BitMEX pleaded guilty to Bank Secrecy Act violations. All 3 received presidential pardons. Then the company itself was pardoned. $100 million in fines. Gone. An American first. These events are unrelated.
Sheikh Tahnoun of Abu Dhabi paid $500 million for a 49% stake that was never publicly disclosed. Then the administration approved semiconductor exports to his companies over national security objections. These events are unrelated.
Everything is unrelated. I track the unrelatedness on a dashboard I built. The dashboard has 7 columns now. I am proud of the dashboard.
On May 22nd, 220 people paid a combined $148 million to eat dinner with the America First president. Over half were foreign nationals. Justin Sun paid $18.5 million for the first seat. He visited the Executive Office Building the day before. I designed the seating chart. I put it on the Investor Confidence page. That page is doing well.
The team page lists 3 Witkoffs. All 3 are Co-Founders.
Steven Witkoff is the President's Middle East envoy. He testified as a character witness at the President's fraud trial.
His son Zach runs the crypto operation. His son Alex is also a Co-Founder. I have not been told what Alex co-founded.
The father runs the diplomacy. The sons run the platform. The family runs both. That is organizational efficiency.
Barron is 19. His title is Web3 Ambassador. The same as mine. Donald Jr. called the conflicts of interest "complete nonsense." Eric launched a Bitcoin mining company called American Bitcoin. America First. The mining partner is Hut 8. Hut 8 was founded in Canada. America First means the name.
On March 6th, the President signed Executive Order 14233 creating a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. The order directs the government to hold Bitcoin. The President's family holds billions in Bitcoin. The executive order appreciates the President's assets by presidential decree. I did not write the executive order. I made sure it looked unrelated to the portfolio.
Trump Media put $2 billion of Bitcoin on its balance sheet. The ticker symbol is DJT. His initials. The press secretary said it is absurd to insinuate the President profits off the presidency. Forbes calculated his crypto holdings exceed the combined value of Mar-a-Lago and Trump Tower. I would call that absurd too. That is my job.
600,000 wallets bought in. 1 of them asked why she could not withdraw her funds. I told her the protocol was experiencing dynamic market conditions. She asked what that meant. I sent her the Gold Paper. She said she had read the Gold Paper. I muted her channel. Dynamic means the conditions change. The condition that changed was her access.
A congressman called us the world's most corrupt crypto startup operation. We put it on a coffee mug. Ironic merchandise. $45. The revenue split on the mug is also 75/25.
My own tokens vest on a different schedule. I wrote that schedule. That is not in the Gold Paper.
The memecoin funds the family. The family funds the platform. The platform funds the stablecoin. The stablecoin funds the deals. The deals require the pardons. The pardons free the partners. The partners fund the platform. The President signs the executive orders. The executive orders inflate the assets. The assets fund the family.
I am the reason these events are unrelated.
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
I run Compensation Analytics for a Fortune 500 company.
My job is to calculate the lowest salary you'll accept.
Not the salary you deserve. Not the salary the role requires. Not the market rate. The minimum number that keeps you from walking.
I know this number before you walk in. Sometimes before you apply.
We buy data. Your payroll processor shares your salary history with Equifax through a product called The Work Number. More than 800 million employment and income records. Updated every pay cycle. Equifax sells it to us through a "verification of income" API. The word "verification" means we know what you made at your last three jobs, whether you got a raise, and when you didn't.
That's market intelligence.
We layer signals. Credit card utilization. Payday loan activity. Past-due balances. Delinquent debt. Address changes. There are about 500 vendors that aggregate this data now. An audit by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth flagged 20 as high-risk for enabling algorithmic wage discrimination. Sixteen of the twenty plug directly into payroll and HR systems. We use nine.
The dashboard has a field called "candidate tolerance threshold." That's the number. The lowest salary you'll accept. We set the offer at 3% to 6% above it. Enough to feel like negotiation. Not enough to change your life.
That's compensation design.
The academic term is "surveillance wages." The industry term is "compensation optimization." A law professor named Veena Dubal found that when multiple employers in the same market use the same vendors, it functions as de facto price-fixing of labor. Same mechanism as the RealPage rental pricing scandal. Same logic. Same outcome. RealPage coordinates rents. Our vendors coordinate salaries. Different commodity. Same extraction.
That's the market.
Here's what the algorithm sees when you apply. Your last three salaries. Your debt-to-income ratio. How quickly you accepted your previous offer. Your zip code. Whether you've used a payday lender in the last two years. It calculates your reservation wage and sets the offer just above.
Your performance doesn't set your salary. Your desperation does.
A new VP of Total Rewards asked me why the algorithm used payday loan history. I explained that payday usage correlates with financial fragility, and financial fragility predicts acceptance velocity. She asked if that was legal. I said it was standard. She asked whose standard. I showed her the vendor's compliance page.
She transferred to a different division. That's organizational learning.
Colorado introduced a bill to ban the practice. HB25-1264. It would prohibit using payday loan history, location data, and search behavior to set algorithmic pay offers.
The companies lobbied against it. The same companies that told their employees they don't use surveillance wages.
A state representative asked the obvious question: "If these companies don't pay surveillance wages, then what is the problem of codifying in law that you're not allowed to?"
The lobbyists provided written testimony. They said the bill would create "compliance burden." They did not answer the question.
That's advocacy.
The data flows in one direction. We know your salary trajectory. You don't know ours. We know what you'll settle for. You think you're negotiating. The algorithm already accounted for your counter. It budgeted for exactly one round.
There is a freeze option. You can go to Equifax's website and freeze your Work Number file. Most people don't know it exists. We don't mention it in the offer letter. We don't mention it in the onboarding packet. We don't mention it in the benefits portal. We don't mention it anywhere.
That's by design. The system requires your ignorance to function. If everyone froze their data, compensation optimization would have nothing to optimize.
I froze mine the week I started this job. I work in Compensation Analytics. I know what the tools see.
I just build them for everyone else.
I am the Director of Biblical Communications Strategy in the White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives. The position was created in January. The office was created in February.
That means I pick the Bible verse. For the graphic. For the post. The one that goes over the night-vision footage, or the body-cam capture, or the painting of Christ on the cross. I choose the typography. I choose the crop. I choose which chapter, which verse, which translation sounds most like something a soldier would tattoo on his forearm.
We have a content calendar. We call it the Scripture-to-Action Matrix. It maps federal operations to relevant biblical passages on a rolling 90-day basis. Raid season gets Old Testament. Enforcement campaigns get Proverbs. Military operations get the Gospels. Holidays are planned six months in advance.
Easter is our Super Bowl.
Last January, I paired Matthew 5:9 — "Blessed are the peacemakers" — with night-vision footage of an airstrike. Four-point-four million views. The verse is about peace. The footage is about an airstrike. The thumbnail tested well in both dark mode and light mode. Somebody in the replies wrote: "This is what faith looks like." Eighty thousand likes.
That's faith-based engagement.
I posted Isaiah 6:8 — "Here am I, send me" — over ICE officers entering a residence at 4 AM. Proverbs 28:1 — "The righteous are bold as a lion" — over a deportation flight manifest. For Black History Month we used a manifest destiny painting. For Armed Forces Day we did an ASMR handcuff video with Psalm 23 in the caption.
We have a "do not use" list. Certain verses create what we call "engagement risk." Matthew 6:5, for example: "When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing on the street corners to be seen by others." That one stays in the folder. Matthew 23:27 — "whitewashed tombs, beautiful on the outside, full of dead men's bones" — also flagged. Isaiah 1:15 is permanently restricted: "When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you. Your hands are full of blood."
Those are engagement risks.
Operation Epic Fury began on February 28th. Nine hundred strikes in the first twelve hours. Five thousand targets in eleven days. The Pentagon confirmed there was no imminent threat. Congress did not authorize it. The cost is two billion dollars a day.
By Palm Sunday it was day twenty-six. By Good Friday — today — it is day thirty-five.
The body count depends on which briefing you read. Two thousand and seventy-six is the number we use internally. The Minab school is not a number we use at all.
One hundred and eight children. Some sources say one hundred and seventy-five. Both numbers are in the briefing. Neither number is in the Friday post.
On Good Friday. I posted Luke 23:46 — "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit" — over a painting of the crucifixion. Jesus's final words before death. Two hundred and seventy thousand views in six hours. The replies are full of flag emojis and praying hands and "God is with America."
That's faith-based engagement.
The Secretary of Defense held a worship service at the Pentagon on March 25th. Four days before Palm Sunday. The pastor — a man who has publicly defended slavery as biblically sanctioned — led the prayer. Secretary Hegseth asked God for "clear and righteous targets for violence." The congregation said Amen. Someone prayed Psalm 58:6: "Break the teeth of the ungodly." A Bible at the podium was stamped with the phrase "Deus Vult." God wills it.
The last people to stamp Bibles with "Deus Vult" were the Crusaders. That was nine hundred years ago. That was also a communications strategy.
The President held a Bible at Lafayette Square in 2020. Tear gas was still visible in the air. Clergy had been removed by force. He held the book backwards. Or upside down. The reporting varies. What does not vary: it became one of the most shared images in American political history. We studied the engagement metrics extensively. The lesson was clear.
You don't have to read it. You just have to hold it.
He now sells a sixty-dollar "God Bless the USA Bible." It is printed in China. The manufacturing cost is three dollars. He receives $1.3 million in licensing fees. It contains the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the lyrics to "God Bless the USA." Those are not scripture. But they are engagement.
At a National Prayer Breakfast he said "Two Corinthians." He has never named a favorite verse. When asked, he said, "That's very personal."
The White House Easter message this morning invokes Isaiah 53 and calls the faithful "Christian patriots." It says: "Death is swallowed up in victory." That is 1 Corinthians 15:54. It refers to the resurrection. It does not specify whose death. It does not specify whose victory.
On Palm Sunday, the Pope read Isaiah 1:15. "Your hands are full of blood." He said: "War is blasphemy against God." He said: "Jesus, King of Peace, whom no one can use to justify war."
On Holy Thursday — yesterday — he washed the feet of twelve priests in a basilica. He knelt on stone. He poured the water himself. He dried their feet with a linen cloth. No fog machine. No confidence monitor. No run-of-show.
This morning he carried the cross barefoot through the Colosseum. All fourteen stations. He removed his ring. He prostrated himself on the ground at the final station. The first pope to carry it himself in sixty years.
His predecessor spent a decade washing the feet of prisoners. Women. Muslims. Refugees. Juvenile detainees. He did it from a wheelchair. The last time, his body was failing. He told the inmates: "I cannot do it this year, but I want to be close to you." He asked: "Why them and not me?"
He died three days later.
We did not post about any of this. No engagement value.
The Episcopal bishop called our posts "blasphemous." A megachurch pastor in Texas said the bombing was "prophetically right on cue" — that we are witnessing End Times prophecy in real time.
We reposted the megachurch pastor. We did not repost the Pope.
That's editorial judgment.
We have a faith amplification network. Fourteen pastors. Combined following: forty-one million. We don't pay them. We don't have to. They share our posts. We share their sermons. They get the flag. We get the congregation.
One owns two private jets because God told him he couldn't sit "in a tube with demons." Revenue: eighty-nine million a year. Tax-exempt. One locked his sixteen-thousand-seat megachurch during a hurricane. Thousands needed shelter. He said it was flooded. It was not flooded. His net worth is a hundred million dollars. One told her congregation to send a thousand dollars each — "seed faith" — so God would cancel their debts. God did not cancel their debts. She lives in a $3.5 million home. She prayed at the inauguration.
None of them have ever quoted Matthew 19:24 — "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
That one's also on the "do not use" list.
Their churches have fog machines and confidence monitors and boom cameras. The worship leader hits the key change when the pastor raises his hand. The tears are on cue. The giving moment follows the emotional peak. The altar call is in the run-of-show document.
It is, in every technical sense, a production.
So is ours.
Their stage is the sanctuary. Ours is the feed. Their offering plate is passed by hand. Ours by algorithm. Both operations convert faith into reach and reach into authority and authority into the kind of power that never has to explain itself — least of all to God.
Matthew 21:12-13. Jesus entered the temple and overturned the tables of the money-changers. "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."
Also on the "do not use" list.
I have been in this role for three months. I have selected forty-seven Bible verses for federal communications. I have never attended a church service. I have a degree in marketing from Arizona State. My KPIs are engagement rate, amplification ratio, and faith-resonance index — a proprietary metric that measures how likely a user is to share a post containing scripture without reading the verse in context.
Our highest-performing posts are the ones where the verse says the exact opposite of what is happening in the image.
I think about the "do not use" list sometimes. Isaiah 1:15 — hands full of blood. Matthew 25:43 — "I was a stranger and you did not invite me in." Matthew 6:5 — the hypocrites praying on street corners to be seen. Matthew 23:27 — tombs that look beautiful on the outside and are full of bones.
Those verses are in the book we sell for sixty dollars. They are in the book we hold backwards at photo opportunities. They are in the book stamped "Deus Vult" on the Pentagon podium. They are in the book we quote over night-vision footage and deportation flights and paintings of Christ dying on day thirty-five of a war nobody voted for.
We just don't post those ones.
They're engagement risks.
Happy Easter.
That's faith-based engagement.
