I am convinced that the 8 pillars of Mental & Physical Health are:
1) Sleep
2) (Sun)light
3) Exercise
4) Stress Management
5) Relationships (Incl. To Self)
6) Nutrients (Amt., Timing, Content)
7) Oral Health & Gut Microbiome
8) Spiritual Grounding
Additions? Subtractions?
So interesting that whenever I put out the call for “suggest expert on topic X”, the suggestions converge for 1) standard MD, PhDs 2) “alternative” MDs/practitioners …and yet when I compare the suggestions made by these two seemingly disparate groups MOST of what they suggest lines up… yet they ask me not to share that they personally agree with the other group; it’s amusing, and a bit scary to be honest. Are we really that afraid to say what we think about best health practices?

Very special episode of the Huberman Lab podcast out tomorrow, Christmas.
If you have it in you to build or create something new that is a unique expression of you, this is the episode.
Researching Huberman Lab podcast episode on Colds & Flus & its clear that when people say “I’m no longer contagious” (as they sniffle or cough), they are wrong 95% of the time. A sneeze or cough doesn’t imply sickness per se but most don’t know their own contagion risk at all.
Olive oil is considered by most (me included) as a healthy fat. @RobertLustigMD explains that when excessively heated during some forms of cooking, it turns into a very unhealthy trans-fat. Learn more on the latest Huberman Lab podcast:

Darkness at night is as important as sunlight & bright light during the morning & daytime for mental and physical health. The data are overwhelming. Don’t negotiate with nature too much or often. Get aligned with the DAY: LIGHT, NIGHT: VERY DIM/DARK & you’ll reap myriad benefits.
One of the more promising emerging treatments for autism (and of course not all people are looking for a treatment, but many are) centers around the vasopressin pathway. Learn more on the latest Huberman Lab podcast w/Dr Karen Parker of @StanfordMed https://t.co/lm5BSG1jdH
