Congrats! Melanie Stammler @mel_stam published a short article about "Using drones to investigate rock glacier kinematics" in @NatRevEarthEnv
This is part of the Tools of the Trade-Series by Earth Science Women's Network (ESWN) @ESWNtweets
Have a look: https://t.co/eshGJZ6qWm
Why using #drones to investigate #rockglacier kinematics? See my answer in the Tools of the Trade article published with @NatRevEarthEnv in collaboration with the @ESWNtweets 🥳

Big thank you for the opportunity!
Sneaking in a reminder to submit to "Cold-climate aeolian processes, landforms, and deposits" at @EuroGeosciences 2025 by sharing UAV footage from our fieldwork in Northern Finland!

Science Pitch and Int. Paper Award
On Nov. 6, 2024, students and colleagues at the Department of Geography were offered an exciting insight into the wide range of current research at the Department of Geography.
10 researchers presented their work in only 3 minutes each.
Earth & Data Scientists unite! Looking at dunes through various angles provided such valuable results, cannot imagine what will happen bringing the bigger picture together!

Today we started with #Geomorphica team stats, going through the different subteams on the upcoming fridays (#factfriday). So interesting - and important to track, I think!
Welcome to our EDI series for the upcoming #factfridays! Today we share stats on the entire team. Having a diverse team behind #Geomorphica is a core value to us. We are far from perfect, but stand behind being transparent. Are your demographics underrepresented? Contact us!
Nice to see that parts of the community were already aware of #Geomorphica when presenting at the annual meeting of the @DGGeomorph (#DGGM) last week.
Help us spread the news! Interested in stickers or keen on including our logo on your presentation slides? Contact us please💙
Paper alert! More than happy to present our 4th publication: Congratulations to Christa O. van IJzendoorn and co-authors.

As always, we are very greatful for your submissions - without you, Geomorphica would not be possible.
Fieldwork that brings together remote sensing, mapping, stratigraphy and geochronology is already fun. But just look at the landscape, isn't it fantastic? And yes, Northern Sweden and Finland (part of Sápmi) host aeolian dunefields!
Ground-truthing GEOBIA mapped dunes, sketching stratigraphies and sampling for dating. ArcDune fieldwork is so diverse, and always a pleasure. Even more so with colleagues from Nanjing/China and the ENSG - Geomatics/France. If now only we could find a way around the mosquitoes!

Playing in the sand is a great fun, even for scientific purposes! We had a fantastic fieldwork & workshop in beautiful Swedish and Finnish #Lapland to study #Arctic sand #dunes as part of our ArcDune project. @mel_stam@Z_GIS1@GIUB_Research @UU_University
I was interviewed! Glad to share some insights to my role at @Geomorphica. As always, big thanks to the team, to @psulibs as well as the @IAGAIG.
Be encouraged to reach out for any Geomorphica questions. Join the team of volunteers, the reviewer database and submit papers 🩵
Why having #Geomorphica? And what motivates, e.g. our EiC? Check out a recent interview by @psulibs Open Publishing to learn more.

Many thanks to our energetic attendees, wonderful speakers and PYRN ExCom members for planning a spectacular early career workshop for #ICOP2024. What a lovely way to start the conference!
Check out all answers in our full conference #paper published in the proceedings of this years International Conference on #Permafrost (#ICOP) which I attended two weeks ago in Whitehorse, Canada.
Paper alert 📢: Vertical surface change signals of rock glaciers: combining UAV and Pléiades imagery (Agua Negra, Argentina), https://t.co/6LaGCHlJtm
Accessing rock glaciers in for conducting UAV surveys is not always possible. (1/x)
How do satellite results compare to UAV results when calculating rock glacier surface change? Can we resolve the geomorphological processes we are interested in when using Pleiades satellite imagery? Which impact has the choice of processing strategy on the outcome? (2/x)
Happy Birthday @Geomorphica 🎉. What a journey - so happy to be part of the team. The support is incredible, and the best birthday present we could think of. Looking forward to future submissions and publications!
🎉Time to celebrate 🥳
One year that Geomorphica has been open for submissions, extremely happy to share our 1st issue & 1st two publications. Stay tuned, there will be more papers passing the last stages of the publication process soon! (1/x)

The second paper is ready🥳. Congratulations to Ace Matthew F. Cantillep, Noelynna T. Ramos @gearlabnigs & @jeremymrimando. Big thank you for your contribution 🎉.
