Lights Out in the $100,000 PLO High Roller!
Despite Daniel Negreanu @RealKidPoker not being able to see anything, could Philip Sternheimer @TheMannheim find the right call against Alex Foxen @WAFoxen?
@GGPoker
Natural gas is the upstream raw ingredient in nitrogen fertilizer. The sulfur in phosphate fertilizer comes from oil refining, also upstream. When energy gets expensive, fertilizer prices downstream follow.
There's always a sweat 😅
Huge reaction for Matthew Higgins as he wins Event #63: $1,000 Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold'em for $1,000,000 and his first @WSOP gold bracelet!
"Ronald Gruner’s We the Presidents is fascinating"
The anniversary edition of We the Presidents, commemorating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, is now available for pre-order -- extensively updated from the acclaimed first edition with over 140 illustrations.
Here's a look at Invictus National 2028's Anderson Adams on the mound. The RHP tossed a complete game, notching 6Ks while allowing only 1 run in the tie game today.

🚨 JUST IN: Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) just filed legislation to BAN taxpayer funded mortgages for illegal aliens — reserving them for citizens only
Hold on…WHY WERE WE GIVING ILLEGAL ALIENS TAXPAYER MORTGAGES?! 🤯
GILL: “The sole purpose of our housing programs is to help Americans build wealth and achieve the American Dream. Illegal immigration is making that impossible.” 🇺🇸
Get this passed!
Should be unanimous if Democrats didn’t betray America. @RepBrandonGill
For as long as there has been a United States, there has been an American confectionery industry. 250 years of celebrating together. Always A Treat. 🇺🇸
History made at the World Series of Poker.
The Ladies Event broke the all-time record with 1,475 entries.
Now one player will turn that historic field into a bracelet and $194,630.
An incredible turnout for one of the most important events of the summer. 👏

before algorithms took over, Wall Street ran on hand signals
this video shows the exact system. 30 seconds. and it explains more about modern markets than most trading courses
open hand facing out: sell. facing in: buy
fingers up: quantity. fist to forehead: cancel
an entire multi-billion dollar execution system running on gestures across a noisy room
here's why this matters now
every one of those hand signals was a piece of information leaking into the room
when a big buyer started flashing signals, every other trader on the floor could see the size, the direction, the urgency
the informed traders learned to read hands before reading price
they front-ran the signal, not the order
that was the original adverse selection problem
today the hands are gone but the problem is identical
your order hits the exchange and within microseconds the market maker's algorithm reads your flow signature
retail order? institutional? informed? emotional?
if you look like informed flow, the spread widens before your fill
if you look like retail, you get filled instantly because you're the least dangerous counterparty in the book
> open outcry trading: dominant until the early 2000s
> NYSE went fully electronic: 2006
> algorithmic trading share today: 70%+ of US equity volume
> the adverse selection math (Glosten-Milgrom): published 1985, still running inside every market maker
the hands disappeared
the information game didn't
they just replaced fingers with algorithms that read your order flow faster than any human ever read a hand signal
full breakdown in the video below
Before being shortlisted today as a Poker Hall of Fame nominee, @JustinBonomo said the following:
"I don't think I'll have a fair shot of being voted into the Hall of Fame because a significant percentage of the voters are Zionists."
There are a number of ways to describe a person who says something like this, and I can't think of a single one that's positive.
Moreover, if you were a Poker Hall of Famer and your integrity as a voter was publicly called into question like this, would you then proceed to cast a vote for him?
Most people in the poker community won't say anything about this (publicly) because it's far easier to remain silent and not rock the boat. It's easier to not get involved in social media drama. And it's also easier to deprive a hot button issue of its oxygen, and let it die down naturally.
But it's not as simple as that, and words matter. They matter a hell of a lot, actually.
Silence is also a tacit form of "acceptance" that saying those sorts of things is acceptable and OK.
It's not.
So, I'm choosing to speak up and say the quiet part out loud:
Among the qualifications for Poker Hall of Fame entry is "gained the respect of peers".
Whatever respect this bigot might have earned through his poker accomplishments was squandered long ago, and certainly not just among his peers.
To induct him into the Poker Hall of Fame would do nothing other than bring shame upon the game, and make permanent a stain better forgotten and washed away by the sands of time.
Sincerely,
A human being
