Bozoma on her heritage and lineage.
"Call me by my name. Bozoma Afiba Mamekyi Arthur Saint John-Watson. QUEEN for short.
I am descended from royalty on both sides of my family. My father is Nzema. On his side, the royal stool belonged to Awulae Blay VI, Paramount King of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area in Atuabo.
My mother is Ahanta. Through her, I descend from the Obrempong Royal Stool in Mpintsin and the Ntwia Ebusua. We are matrilineal, and generations of my family are buried in the royal mausoleum in Mpintsin.
So when I stood to be married, I wore my history.
My kente was woven by hand in Bonwire, Kumasi over FOUR MONTHS. WOVEN, thread by thread, with Adinkra symbols carrying the wisdom of our people.
And then there was the GOLD. Ohhhhh the gold! Around my neck, chest, wrists, ankles and in my hair. Gold has adorned Akan royalty for generations as inheritance and power. I wanted to feel its weight.
My hair was sculpted into the traditional Tekua and adorned with gold. On my feet were Ahenema, "the children of kings." Even my feet knew where I came from!
Across my waist, red, black and yellow represented sacrifice, our ancestors, preciousness and beauty. Among the Adinkra symbols in my kente and jewelry was GYE NYAME: "Except God." After all the talk of kings and queens, there is still only One above us all.
My greatest inheritance stood beside me: my mother Mama Aba, my daughter Lael, who carries it forward; and my sisters by blood and choice: Ahoba, Alua, Aba, Tina, Dorien, Justina, Luvvie, Erika, Cari, Leander and Amina.I hope Ghanaians see home.
I hope the diaspora remembers that slavery is not the beginning of our story. Before the ships and chains, we had names, families, kingdoms and traditions worthy of awe.
AKWAABA. This is where I come from, and this is how I came to my marriage: fully myself... to marry my king Keely Watson.

I have learnt with deep sadness of the passing of legendary Ghanaian actress, Grace Nortey.
Madam Grace Nortey was a true trailblazer and cultural icon whose illustrious career, spanning over five decades, brought joy to homes and inspired many young women in the creative arts.
Hajia Samira and I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and the entire creative arts fraternity.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
The difference between this guy and ship dealer is ship dealer knows he’s a comedian and that takes him places. But i get it somehow, people will do whatever to feel included, but being a liar is disgraceful. Portfolio too someone who lied and got you beaten up by wale ein people u dey enable am to lie on others, it makes you look slow, like asking ghana birdman how he formed Cash Money and signed Lil Wayne, unless u tryna make fun of ignorance.
This should HORRIFY every American. Every single Muslim interviewed in the UK by an undercover Muslim says
- They want Sharia Law
- Go to the mosque for Jihad training
- The mosques will give you weapons to fight the infidels
-Mosques will put you into groups like Hamas and Al-Qaeda
- They want women, inflicting young girls in the UK to all be covered up
- EVERY SINGLE ONE wants Sharia Law in the UK
