@DollowR @behindyourback OMG the guilt trips because I can't squeeze booking a restaurant for the family get together, that they are perfectly capable of and have time do themselves, in between actual work calls and deadlines.
@jyothi17750159 I actually find the thought of hoards of dead people witnessing the end of the universe depressing. Let's not even talk about a system that subjectively divides you into a good or bad place. I'd rather we just do the best we can and then go back to nature.
@nisslbodies My 4 year old loves that one. That said, we have a lovely illustrated version that an uncle gave me when I was 9. I think the beautiful pictures seal the deal.
@thejewess Do you ever feel guilty about helping businesses promote useless things/services? Sometimes I listen to the umpteenth brief where client says they are a "market leader" and ๐๐ฉjust starts flashing in my head.
@Slayed06 @greg_jenner @andmichaelgreen Still pretty dumb. We have 1 TV in the house and I save up episodes /shows for when I have time alone to actually pay attention and savor them. Not playing things through for no reason, especially with other people wanting a go, not to mention rising energy bills.
@blamealan @aishamadeit It's being treated on par with buying a supply of bolts or other standard factory goods. Digital has compressed timelines, but choosing agencies/creatives based on lowest bid has done the rest.
@johnvvariety That is basically my experience. Freshman year, woke up super late, sprinted to class without talking to anyone, was peeved class was canceled (no detail on note on door), went back and common room was crowded, so I went to take a shower. No TV or radio in my room.
@tammyoltz @steph_sweetie25@MarisaKabas Sadly my favorite aviation and cargo pants wore out, but I am currently wearing dresses from my late teens and they look almost brand new fashion-wise.
@MaryCSilver @boyonabike62 In Italy, there is what we call a "foot bus". Volunteers, usually seniors, take it in turns to accompany kids. There are marked stops for pickup/drop-off along a walking route, and kids wear reflective vests for visibility. That said, towns here are built for pedestrians.
