And we finished with a cool down doodle of randomly generated concentric circles! Thank you to all our wonderful participants for their creativity and their patience with all my heartbreaking rolls! If this sounded fun, join us next month! Sign up here: https://t.co/9LFwmpFpE3
So how does one go about running an arts workshop you ask? Well, right now we’re getting all ready over here @RisingSunArts, with @Lycomorpha unpacking ALL of the pencils and markers…
Next up was a grid game with different frames and objects drawn in, randomly selected through dice rolls by yours truly. Well, lady Probability seems to have it out for me today because I kept rolling the numbers for hearts and tears… heartbreaking grids ahead 😢💔❤️🩹
It’s almost time for our dice doodle workshop! Join us @RisingSunArts from 2 pm today! We have pencils, we have dice, we have sass, and we are not afraid to use them…
We’re back for another fun workshop! @Lycomorpha will bring all the pencils, and I will bring all the randomness!!!
Join us @RisingSunArts tomorrow at 14.00
And tomorrow, it's our annual Christmas Art Market - the perfect place to buy handmade gifts from the local artists and makers that made them!

This is precisely why I find teaching statistics to non-mathematicians so rewarding, anyone can learn it, they just need the right support. And the added bonus is they ask the most extraordinary and unexpected questions!
Prepping for maths taster for Y12/13 students later on modelling drug dosage regimen. I might ask “why do I sign up to this stuff when it’s hard work and little recognition?” But I know why: I love it. Sharing richness of maths and that with right support *anyone* can “do maths”.
There is so much to dislike about the 'academia is a calling' discourse.
1. It is utterly exclusionary. It is often shorthand for "I'd do this job even if I weren't paid." Lucky you to have such security. Most of the population could not afford to do that.
Happy International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science 🥳 Huge thanks to all who spoke at or attended our celebration this afternoon @OxfordStats#IDWSDS2022
