Acid reflux ran my life for years.
4β6 flare-ups per year. Couldnβt enjoy certain foods. Always cautious.
So I went to see a Zimbabwean GP here in Australia.Sometimes you just want someone who understands exactly what you are trying to explain π (if you know, you know).
He immediately suspected Helicobacter pylori.β¨Tests confirmed it. My levels were extremely high.
Two weeks of strong antibiotics, honestly brutal. Constant hunger even soon after eating.
Retest: Dropped from 900 U/mL β 60 U/mL.β¨Target was below 20 U/mL, so we did another two weeks.
Final I was below 20 U/mL.
Itβs been almost 6 years now. ZERO acid reflux.β¨I eat, drink, travel, live without fear of Acid reflux.
If youβre constantly battling reflux, donβt just mask symptoms, ask your doctor about testing for H. pylori. It might change everything.
Health is quiet wealth.
Anyone else ever discovered a root cause after years of symptoms?
Below is the trio I was prescribed and it did the job.
Everytime I cook chicken, I remove breasts, drumsticks and thighs. Then I save the back (carcass) in a container in the freezer. When month is at roundabout and I'm tired of rice beans, I throw them in hot oil with big ugali. It's like a monthly pension scheme, for food. π
