i’m a cishet white guy who doesn’t see himself in the piece at all, but i know people *like* those you describe, and here’s what i *do* see at the heart of the story you’re telling -

we keep hearing about the shortage of “third spaces” today

seems to me this bar really wanted to be a third space for its target audience, and the trouble is that you’re dealing with an target demographic marginalized in multiple ways - economically (western mass being cheaper than eastern mass), socially, and in many cases apparently with respect to being able-bodiedness

the farther you go out on the bell curve in either direction on these categories, the less cohesion you’re going to find, and the more you have people finding affinity in shared negative factors rather than building community around shared positive factors - the target demographic here is a confederacy of people who share a broadly defined umbrella of “queer” but belong to very different categories otherwise

within this plurality of folks, no one category has the critical mass to support the intended third space, so it’s inherently unstable and financially risky at best

the cracks in the uneasy community are just waiting for somebody to exacerbate them, however accidentally

it’s easy for people to say “what ridiculous weirdos” but the real story here is humans trying desperately to build community to the extent they can and running into real structural obstacles in doing so

even if i can’t directly relate to the particulars, i can empathize with the broad strokes - on a macro level, these are real problems that manifest for a swath of people right now

I wanted to present my application for the position to be Faze House LA private chef.

As everyone knows by now Faze is carrying the summer. One day I was watching @plaqueboymax stream a couple of weeks ago and he made a remark while ordering food off DoorDash and he looked at the price of the order and said “when are we gonna get a private chef”.So I figured I’d give it a try and present my application.I recently just graduated with the Highest Honors from the highest accredited Culinary school in America @ the ICE Pasadena in the state of California. You might wonder why should I pay attention to this random person off the internet,well I’ve been cooking for as long as a I can remember.And ever since I was 16 years old I would prepare and cook every thanksgiving,Easter,and Christmas dinner.I was also given the opportunity to cater a couple of my aunts and uncles weddings and also some gatherings and birthdays. By this I accumulated 15k profit in order to help pay for my culinary tuition.

Also I would like to propose to @LacyHimself @kaysan the idea to be able to help assist you guys with working out because I’m also a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER by NASM. Im highly accredited in this field by my own experience.I was 280lbs at one point and I was able to lose 115 pounds in a little over a year.And I’ve been able to successfully bulk from that 165lbs to 185lbs.
