Striking critical civilian infrastructure like power plants will harm millions of Iranians who have long risked everything for freedom. Pressure must target the machinery of repression—not the people who have endured 47 years under it.

Targeting Iran’s civilian infrastructure is a grave strategic error. Obliterating power plants will not degrade the IRGC’s military capabilities or liberate the Iranian people; it will only punish the millions who have bravely stood as your greatest allies on the ground. For years, Iranians have lobbied the West, trusted you, and risked everything to oppose this regime.
To destroy the foundations of a post‑Islamic Republic economy is to sabotage the very vision of “Making Iran Great Again.” If the United States ever puts troops on the ground, success will hinge on the cooperation of the Iranian people. To eliminate the IRGC, you need Iranians to facilitate your objectives, or at the very least trust your intentions enough to yield the battlespace.
If that trust is shattered by the destruction of hospitals, water systems, and power, the mission is lost. Never underestimate the power of Iranian patriotism. When the West attacks a nation’s lifelines, it does not break the regime; it gifts it the oxygen of nationalism to survive. Iran is not the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s civilian infrastructure belongs to the Iranian people and to the future of a free Iran. The Islamic Republic’s infrastructure is the machinery of repression and terror used to keep that future from becoming reality.

Iran must be protected. The regime must be dismantled.

I ask President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu to continue targeting the regime and its apparatus of repression, while sparing the civilian infrastructure Iranians will need to rebuild our country.

With the support of the US and Israel, and above all the sacrifice of Iranian patriots, the hour of Iran’s freedom is at hand.

Targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure will not give America the upper hand in this war. It will drag the war into the region’s energy infrastructure, cause energy prices to skyrocket, and dramatically increase the material and political cost of the war for the Trump administration.
Instead of targeting Iran’s power plants, the U.S. should deploy more aircraft carriers and fighter jets to the region to strike the Islamic Republic’s missile stockpiles on a much larger scale.
Another appropriate action would be for the U.S.—instead of focusing on Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz—to focus on Tehran. With Israel’s help, make Tehran’s streets safe for the people so conditions are created for the public to come out and bring down this regime.
A few more weeks and a few hundred billion extra dollars is all this war actually needs. After that, we can all benefit from an Iran after the Islamic Republic.

It is easy to understand the anger of Vali Nasr. His era is over. The era of his father is over. The era of shaming Iranians for moving past Islam is over. The era of condemning a people simply because they desire a normal, modern life is over. You have lost Iran. Iran is not a Muslim country anymore.

درباره فضای فعلی شبکه‌های اجتماعی، از جمله توییتر، این نکته را در نظر داشته باشید که صدای مردم داخل ایران از این فضاها حذف شده است. یکی از اصلی‌ترین دلایل قطع اینترنت در ایران این است که جمهوری اسلامی می‌داند بدون حمایت و فشار مردم در داخل کشور، ایرانیانِ خارج از کشور این صلاحیت اخلاقی را برای خود قائل نیستند که بر مواضع خود پافشاری کنند. مخصوصاً زمانی که عوامل جمهوری اسلامی با سیم‌کارت‌های سفید از داخل کشور تلاش می‌کنند روایت حکومت از این جنگ را گسترش دهند. در نتیجه، متوجه باشید که این فضا به نفع جمهوری اسلامی و با هدف بقای این حکومت دستکاری شده است. حرف مردمِ داخل کشور همان چیزی است که در ۱۸ دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴ گفته شده است. هیچ‌چیز تغییر نکرده است.
