Since this scene was a mix of 2D and 3D animation, it was extremely complex and challenging to make work. I had to make sure all the action timing was prepared in advance. Many people worked incredibly hard to make this possible
@Every1HasAPryce The problem is coverage. 1+2 being a tracking weapon move with very fast recovery removes movement, most power crushes & parries as counterplay and Kuni still gets to play even if it's blocked.
Also I suggested side*walking* to be the counter so it would still beat ss duck.
i feel like "compensation buffs" have consistently been bad across the whole fighting game genre, sometimes its ok to just nerf characters without randomly throwing them a gun

@SebboTK I don't think many realize how powerful it is to get an advantageous BT situation on block. 1,1 was nerfed from -4 to -6 for a reason. Oh and this move also fully tracks against swl.
Would love to see an intentional version of this though (with the execution hurdle intact).
Fighting games are bad products, not bad games. The genre's 25-year fixation on its core gameplay has gotten us nowhere. Meanwhile Chesscom got 10 million DAUs just by making chess a better product. We need to think more seriously about how these games are packaged. ↓
