Excellent thread. I would personally say that at this point anyone using the phrase "your risk of Long COVID increases with each infection" is either being intentionally deceptive or is very ignorant of the data and can be safely ignored.
astonishing that every day people wake up and decide to have a go in the menswear guy replies. “I’m gonna put this guy in his place.” no you’re not. you’re a henchman breaking into John Wick’s home. you’ve made bad life choices
@LewSOS@JG_moves_NZ patients. Which is what makes the whole dialogue around ‘14 layers’ even more ridiculous. Theres no one structure used everywhere (and there shouldn’t be, as the complexity of care required differs between districts, rural vs urban and service).
@LewSOS@JG_moves_NZ - one district is yet to come next year and its recent introduction at Southern has still been beset by issues, even with it already being used in 3 other SI districts. Part of the issue is each district functions slightly differently in its admin structure and how it manages
The claim "$5300 is enough to buy every person private health insurance" is a classic politics lie that relies on 90% of people reading it not understanding that the public health system subsidises the private health system, meaning private health insurance is vastly cheaper
@taramcallister4 There’s also the Leith Harbour Free which is run by the Leith Harriers: a timed 5 & 10km once a month that follows one of two flat routes along Te Aka Ōtākou. That’s on either a weekday evening or Sunday morning.
@taramcallister4 There’s 2 x double loops, the second goes up a short but very steep bit of hill near the start known as ‘the stairs of despair’. If you walk that (as most folks do) it’s otherwise fine. And you’ll be surprised at how quickly your fitness improves doing it regularly.
