It was a privilege to present initial findings from my PhD research project at the
@FutureNordic Qualitative Longitudinal Research conference in Helsinki on Monday! Many thanks to the organisers for an inspiring event. #QLR#Sociology#StudentHealth@DurhamSociology@DtpNine
Hi! Iโm Melody Bishop, a PhD student at @DurhamSociology, researching the experiences of first-year students with long-term physical health conditions during transition to university.
Please take a look at this flyer and get in touch if you are interested in taking part!
@jhunleth I'm in the UK and can't even imagine being asked to collect (sort of equivalent) National Insurance numbers?! Sorry you're going through that.
Looking forward to my belated graduation tomorrow with @durham_uni and postgrad celebrations with @AnthDurham1 hopefully catching up with all things anthropology... ๐
Brilliant day attending the South West Public Health Virtual Scientific Conference, which started with an inspirational presentation from Prof Sir Michael Marmot. Delighted to have been able to showcase some of my own and colleagues' work on #LongCOVID too #SWPH22#UKHSA ๐ง

Fantastic first day of this course - can't wait for the next session! The concept of "no antibiotics means no interventions" really stuck out to me as someone with an interest in iatrogenesis.
Do you know any #students currently studying at UK unis? Pls share this w/them! We're working w/ @officestudents to better understand the barriers to accessing support for #mentalhealth & #wellbeing services
Your feedback could help influence change.

I finally submitted my thesis!! ๐๐ฅณ๐ It was a tough slog but Iโm so proud of it, and I hope Iโve made a (small) contribution towards understanding and improving the mental health of students.
Very fortunate to have been able to attend this excellent in-person event! I now have a much greater understanding of lived experience in people with inherited conditions, as well as a greater understanding of the genetics of bananas...
A feast of poetry inspired by art installation #IDNA@_I_DNA@ImaginingFuture at Warwick Arts Centre, and live streamed tonight from 6.30pm as part of #Resonate festival
Today was my last day as a delegate on fantastic short course 'Introduction to #Epidemiology' (#BristolUni), culminating in a group study design exercise and discussions of the future of science 'post-pandemic'. Thanks to all speakers and my #UKHSA colleagues for their support!
Thank you so much to all of today's #AVAR2021 speakers! Managed to tune in from the passenger seat en route to Durham - a great way to end the working day. Interesting to hear the term "illness realities" being used instead of "illness narratives" which I am more familiar with๐
