@MobyChe The ideal thing is getting Scott now if they trsut him, and keeping Enzo/Caicedo.
The club clearly doesn't trust Lavia or Barco to be the Enzo replacement; you get the player now and bed them in. Then let Enzo get his move a year later
@KAKUfrank@ExpectedChelsea The point is there is no improvement on Enzo in the market.
So rather than doing the equivalent of spending 100m on Garnacho/Gittens to "improve" Sancho, get a cheap player who gives you 70-80% and figure out what you have w Lavia/Barco etc; then enter the market.
@Sam_Lloyd14@SibsMUFC@HistoryMatters7 You've removed the fact Derby lost all their top scorers like Vydra/Weimann. Plus Lampard transitioned from a 35-40% deep possession team to a high-pressing team in that season w academy kids
Not sure how that's "ridiculous" when the opposition had Jack Grealish and John McGinn
@d_ftbl Maresca did simplify Sanchez's buildup considerably.
Sanchez in start of Maresca & Rosenior was an example of them trying short buildup. Then as time went, he asked Sanchez to either safe pass, or do a longer ground pass to Joao Pedro etc to pass back - if oppo went man-to-man
@Statford_Bridge My exception to not take 120m would be if we're setting up to attack the title this ssn.
Otherwise I'd bank the profit, dont throw it all on Wharton, and park the money for next year. Evaluate what u have in Lavia/Barco/MNJ w Reece as your in-case-of-emergency option.
@Statford_Bridge Similar to Cucu - Enzo's been run ragged to the ground by us for the past 4 years.
It shows in his extra muscle but lack of quick-feet dribbling we saw in 22/23 as well. After a big WC, imo there's a risk he physically does an Alexis Sanchez so prefer a sale this or next yr max.
@Okeleko@cfccyberfk Well we hired a coach from the championship
They hired a manager who spent 18 months at Chelsea
He's allowed to grow and learn from exp
@LetsTalk_FPL Would just love the prices to only change in a locked window immediately after deadline. This whole a transfer is more expensive on a Fri over a Wed makes no sense
@htomufc@FkBanned@Dancracknell1 But you can do a 5-4-1 while guarding the edge of the box?
Force Messi that if he wants the ball in space, he has to drop back 40 yards like how Chelsea did in 2012. Kill all space 30 yards from goal, we see it all the time.
Instead England were so passive, even CMs in the box.
@SonOfChelsea That's what I felt last night, but waking up it does feel player-driven as well (Tuchel fault for picking them tho).
Even a 5-4-1 shouldn't be conceding that much space outside the box if you're proactively defending. Mexico you could understand as it was 10 men, but here?
@Hokiekarma@OliviaBuzaglo What guarantees do you think he's getting at Man Utd ahead of Mainoo or Bruno?
They showed him a pathway and we didn't b/c we want to keep Lavia as he's a City academy boy
@MG09123 Why are we the ground for Lavia's rehab? You loan him out for minutes like you did with RLC or Zouma earlier?
It's also amazing how everyone other than the City academy boys like Tosin, Delap, Lavia or Gittens were name-checked in the Athletic briefs as open to a sale for.
@lateriser12 Seems much closer to a repeat of selling Hall/Guehi etc than it is to selling Broja etc.
He's had Tchouameni level effectiveness in Ligue 1 and has so much potential.
@deuxsucres77@CFCParee@Jonny40229 You can back the manager but we've just gone into the window spending 70m on Barco/Quenda who can play WB.
And now we've spent 50m more here.
While you don't have a proper CB or DM; and are low on funds. This WB is somehow as expensive as a prime Cucurella???
@MobyChe Penders GK. Reece/Gusto/Hato/Josh can play FB, and just you can pair Josh/Hato w Colwill and 1-2 CBs.
In MF would have to replace Enzo - but unless you're getting Joao Neves etc, but I'd say you have as much a chance of getting an upgrade as u have in hoping Andrey/Barco step up
@MobyChe Why do you need 5-6 signings?
65 points isn't a big mark for this team w/ no rest and Europe. Unless you're getting ceiling raisers like Konate or Tchouameni or Alvarez or Hall etc, which it very much appears we won't, then I'd stick and see what you can make of this lot.
