Husband diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia in 2017 at the age of 58. Not quite the life we planned but not all doom and gloom either. #dementia#carers
@bikerwise@Matt_Pinner and permission given to anyone who wants to curl up in the chair with a book at lunch time rather than eating at the desk as usually happens.
@parkinsonsdis You've just confirmed my thoughts exactly. This is the first time I've ever lived on my own and the first time I've been single since I was 15. Although I wish this had never happened life is much better than I would have thought possible on diagnosis day.
@bikerwise On Coronation day I couldn't bring myself to join the village picnic without Ash so, instead, I decimated the garden and now have very few shrubs left. A gardening friend has suggested that next time I need therapy I should just kick a box around instead.
According to the lady handling my complaint at DWP the telephone lines never disconnect when people phone them. I beg to differ. What's your experience? #DWP#dementia#carers#PIP
@parkinsonsdis Sounds grim but think of the sense of achievement when it's all over. For me one of the really good bits to come out of this dementia experience is how much stronger and more confident I feel about myself and it all comes I think from overcoming the grim bits.
@parkinsonsdis Fingers crossed but it only takes one seemingly insignificant change to stop the plates spinning and send them crashing to the ground. Love reading about your adventures.
Can you believe it's almost 5 years since I started writing the blog? For now though this is it, the final post of Memory for Two for you to read. Hopefully you think it was worth the ride. https://t.co/swKF3TKlXB #dementia#Alzheimers#carers#caregiving
Currently juggling a job with Mum and husband in 2 separate care homes. Tues and Weds this week I have work meetings plus visit to mum for her birthday and chiropodist for v. unwilling husband. All organised and then the chirpodist's day is changed. Head about to explode.
Just when my life is improving beyond expectation something comes along which shows how long dementia's reach really is. https://t.co/KjXxJVMVLg #dementia#carers#caregiving#Alzheimers
