So hope things improve for India soon enough. One thing to die from #COVID19 but something else to die from lack of the bare necessities. Lack of oxygen,Lack of emergency facilities and now lack of vaccines.
A 60-year-old woman presented with altered mental status and weakness on the left side. DW MRI of the head revealed a punctate focus of restricted diffusion within the posterior limb of the right internal capsule, with no corresponding abnormality on FLAIR images. #COVID19
For the last four months me and my fellow intensivists which included his wife,alternated call, days and night. We cried, we joked , we laughed,waiting for the day when the curve will bend and we can get a break from the grueling days because of COVID. Then this tragedy struck.

In Critical Care, we understandably emphasize procedure & skill training (vents, US etc) but expertise requires knowing when less is more. We must also teach clinical reasoning, base rate stats, numeracy...
