Tom Brady: “You need coaches that push you outside your comfort zone because that’s how you grow and that’s how you develop self confidence and self esteem. They push you to deal with failure.”
@LetItEat21 last year you had a good little post recovery routine for pitchers - I never had a chance to ask where you got that program from? I want Keagen to be able to continue that type of program after pitching. Thanks!
Any athlete can reach peak performance for a moment or two. Only the mentally strongest athletes can maintain peak performance for an extended period of time.
Four ways to defeat a more talented opponent:
1. Give more effort, physically and mentally.
2. Be more poised under pressure.
3. Play smarter strategically.
4. Work better as a team.
@elite_baseball Justin I’m with the Elite North program and Christian Poulsen coaches our team and I was just wondering do you guys have any agreements or contracts with Marc Pro to get a discount on the recovery machines?
Baseball moves fast.
Your mind can move even faster.
That’s why great players take a breath.
A single deep breath can:
• Slow the game down
• Reset your focus
• Release tension
• Bring you back to the present pitch
Breathing isn’t relaxation.
It’s performance control.
Great coaches like @TexasBaseball pitching coach Max Weiner will coach their players to breathe to stay present.
Great coaches help players... Breathe → Reset → Compete

For the parents and coaches of pitchers…
Young pitchers:
Just because you don’t have a blazing fastball doesn’t mean you can’t be a dominate pitcher. Here are a few things that you can do to make your fastball play better…
• Develop multiple off speed pitches.
• Command those off speed pitches.
• Learn to pitch backwards (get ahead in the count with slow stuff, put them away with hard stuff).
• Become confident throwing all your pitches in any count, most importantly, off speed pitches when behind in the count.
• Create deception in your delivery.
• Work quick.
• Be unpredictable with pitch selection (relatable with bullet points above).
• Develop movement with your FB, sink and cut.
• Learn how and when to change eye levels (work the bottom of the zone and the top or just above the zone).
• Work the inside part of the plate to open up the outer half.
No one said pitching is easy but the higher you get, the better you need to become at this list.
