because its easy to build with ai, most people misunderstand the demand side of the problem. they forget the basics of economics - demand and supply.

next level to this is, demand supply is clear, and its a big problem but either it is highly regulated or not regulated at all - which meanas no framework exists, which makes it come under legally gray zone which can fuck you up anytime. its better avoid building something that has no demand or has demand but frameworks and regulations are still not in your favour.

i was watching your breakdown episode on upi payments. and these are my thoughts -

the mdr could be based on MCC codes as well. like specific mcc codes instead of one rate for all. but again what if someone has miscoded their MCC knowingly or unknowingly?

regarding payments via rupay credit cards. I've added my rupay card on phonepe and then i pay directly from there. except phone recharge i dont get any mdr on my side.

if i have a dinner of 5k at a restaurant, i pay the exact bill on my side. but the merchant wouldnt notice that the credit card processing charges has been cut. so they lost an opportunity to transfer that processing fee to me because they don't know hows payments works and they dont check how much amount did they receive.

overall its an interesting problem to think about
