Following the assassination of Charlie, I picked up my Bible and haven't been able to put it down. First time in my life reading the Bible front to back.
The answers to all our questions are there.
Erika Kirk just stood before the nation in the darkest moment of her life and proclaimed the goodness of God. That is extraordinary faith.
She truly is an inspiration.
They will, and pastors, you have such an opportunity before you.
Your job is hard. I won’t pretend to know what it’s like to shepherd a flock through these perilous times. But I spoke to a group of Christians last night, and I can tell you with certainty what your congregation needs tomorrow: COURAGE and CLARITY.
This is not a time for caveating, nuance, and caution. This is a moment for you to boldly, without equivocation, call out the dark, demonic forces at play, to honor your brother in Christ, and to call your congregants to bravery and repentance.
Remind them of our calling. Remind them of the spirit of power that has been given to us by God. Remind them of the heritage we have as Christians—the bright torch of the gospel that has been passed to us by millennia of believers who were bruised and battered for their faith. Remind them that the same Spirit that that emboldened Christians in the age of Nero lives in us today. We serve the God who conquered death, and one day He’s coming back. Soon, we win. Soon, sin and sadness will be no more. Until then, we have work to do.
Tell them what it means to be saved. Urge them that if today they hear God’s voice, to respond without delay. The time is now. This is the moment for the church. You’re up, pastors. We need you.
Charlie is a martyr. He was murdered because of his relationship with God and the wisdom that flowed from it—just as Stephen was.
“They could not stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.” (Acts 6:10)
“When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.” (Acts 7:55)
“And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.’” (Acts 7:59)
Like Stephen, Charlie carried a gift of wisdom that no one could answer. It was more than the power of persuasion—it was the Spirit of truth speaking through him. His words carried a wisdom beyond his years. And just as with Stephen, when his opponents could not win against truth, they tried to silence him through murder.
But Stephen’s voice did not die with him. Saul heard every word—and after being confronted by Jesus, he carried Stephen’s mantle forward.
So it will be with Charlie. His words will not die with him. His wisdom and witness will multiply in the lives of those who heard and believed.
It hit me as I was hugging my husband when he got home: they shot Charlie for all the things that we personally believe as well.
A sobering thought.
Are you willing to die for what you believe?
There’s so much ugliness online right now. People cheering on Charlie’s murder. I won’t highlight them. Instead I’ll just remind you of this: Charlie wouldn’t care one bit about what those people think. He was extremely aware of the existence of evil and of spiritual warfare. Demons are rejoicing. Satan’s glad he took an effective soldier out of the fight, and everyone who follows Satan feels the same.
What an incredible honor. May we all, when we die, make the demons rejoice. May we all be so courageous, so bold, so effective, so faithful, so obedient to the Lord, so relentless in the pursuit of His glory that when we die all of God’s enemies cheer. May they lament every breath we take, may they be enraged by every morning that our feet hit the floor, may they wince at every word we say.
We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, my friends.
I am already seeing God use this moment to unite people and bring them to truth. If the enemy’s goal was to scare us into silence, he’s failed spectacularly. This is what happens when you make a martyr: you embolden everyone who believes like they do. Charlie and the truth he represented will spread further and wider than it ever has before.
To the people who did this, to the people who support this, you have changed the country forever. If your goal was to immortalize Charlie’s ideas, and to raise people even bolder and more relentless than him, good job. That’s exactly what you’ve done.
Charlie Kirk got shot for telling the truth. That is literally it.
What a mentally sick time we are living through
We need god more than ever
Praying for Charlie’s family and praying for these evil people to heal
How do you coexist with people who genuinely want to (and will) kill you for disagreeing with them politically?
We shouldn't have to live like this...where it's necessary to pay security details thousands of dollars to keep us safe when speaking the truth. But even then it's not enough, because you can be shot dead in the name of "tolerance".
I grieve with you all. If you find yourself celebrating or making light of this, know I'm praying for you tonight and will continue to as the days pass.
Charlie Kirk gave his life defending the freedoms of Americans, including the sociopath who shot him. As dark as it sounds, I don’t think he'd change a thing about his fight.
No one is more deserving of the Presidential Medal of Freedom than Charlie Kirk.
The “I don’t agree with him but no one deserves to be shot and killed” take is such a low bar in basic human empathy
Better to say nothing at all than to denigrate Charlie’s life’s work and signal moral superiority while you make sure people know you don’t condone murder
Evil is real. There is no doubt, the enemy is hard at work.
These last few days, the weight of evil has been heavy across our nation.
But this I know: It will not have the final word. One day, God will make all things right.
Until then, we pray. We weep with those who weep. And we keep fighting, knowing the victory has already been won.
The passing of Charlie Kirk is completely soul crushing.
I have known Charlie for more than 10 years, and his passionate, unending, complete, and total love for Jesus Christ our Savior shined above all.
His testimony introduced untold numbers to our Heavenly Father.
My heart goes out to his incredible wife, Erika, and his two beautiful children.
This is a horrifying day in every sense of the word.
It is truly inexplicable, but I know Charlie entered Heaven's gates and heard, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
