This week, partners from across Merseyside came together to visit five collision hotspots, combining local knowledge with collision data to better understand the challenges at each location.
These visits are an important part of our commitment to preventing people from being killed or seriously injured on our roads. By working together, we can identify opportunities for engineering improvements, targeted enforcement, education and community engagement.
Road safety doesn’t end with this weeks visits.

Collision Hotspot Day
Today we’re joining colleagues from Merseyside Police, local authority partners and highways teams to visit a number of collision hotspots.
By bringing together local knowledge, collision data and on-site observations, we’re identifying opportunities to make our roads safer for everyone.
Every serious collision represents a person, a family and a community affected. Working together, we can help prevent the next one.
Follow along throughout the day as we visit each location and share some simple road safety advice.

@Green_JohnCoyne Hi John, our volunteers submit information such as vehicle registration, speed and time to the Safer Roads Unit who then send educational letters to the registered keeper. We don't prosecute drivers through this initiative.

The Isle of Man TT is just around the corner, and thousands of riders will be travelling through Merseyside to catch the ferry.

If you’re heading to the Island, ride safe, plan ahead, and look out for each other on the roads.

We’ll see increased bike traffic across Liverpool and Merseyside in the coming weeks. So please take extra care, whether you’re on two wheels or four.

And remember: keep your bike secure at every stop.
