@barkley3407@nynjpaweather Some of the most memorable snowstorms occur during El Nino. Superstorm of 93, blizzard of 96, snowmageddon of 2009/2010 and many others.
@nynjpaweather From the desk of Grok: In the absence of verified hit rates (e.g., percentage correct for temp, precip, snow totals), I’d rank his accuracy subjectively as high among private/regional forecasters—likely in the top tier for detailed, explanatory forecasts in the NY/NJ/PA area.
@nynjpaweather Don’t cave to a relative few assholes whose wish you just may be granting. Block these malcontents. This isn’t about free speech. They’re free to make assholes of themselves anywhere.
@Commonsense3416@nynjpaweather MJO, SOI, 50/50 block, arctic short wave forced to phased with subtropical jet all in line about as good as it gets. No guarantees of course but, this is as good as it gets for a classic Miller A.
@ryanweather Brings back childhood memories from the 70’s living by the Great South bay LI, NY. That body of salt water froze thick enough to walk straight across to Fire Island. Smaller cars made the journey too.
@nynjpaweather If my interpretation of guidance is correct, the 1038 high won’t be a pressing issue as it is retreating. Comes down more to placement and strength of polar and subtropical disturbances. Neutral vs negative tilt?
@nolefan1@BigJoeBastardi And much worse has happened historically. Never underestimate what we’ve never experienced. The climate has been good to us over the last century and a half, in a relative way. This window will close at some point.
@astro20222022@ryanweather Short answer is yes. Certain fuel additives have been proposed to coat soot particles making them less effective as condensation nuclei but, they proved to be impractical. Greater efficiency is the long game.
@ryanweather Lol! Another example case of niche in group humor failing to land broadly on a platform where context collapses fast apparently. Poking fun at the mainstream narrative seems to be lost on so many. Hint: mammoth emoji.
@RaySquatch@Rabiddogg@Phila_Mino@ryanweather In the literal sense, the constituents which make up cookies and all food concoctions should exist in nature, not a laboratory. Butylated hydroxytoluene as an example. Bon appetite!
@Phantom2Phlyer@realAnn_29 Half of those who believe in such nonsense can’t figure out where their next rent check is coming from. But please do be afraid of ghost trails in the sky! 😱
