Question: If you were the SEC and you knew that the regulators failed to protect investors, what would be the smart move if there was mounting pressure from Congress?

Answer: Open and highly publicize an investigation into the former CEOs and the company in question.

(This initial investigation is/was related to the lead-up to the 2021 reverse-merger, it has nothing to do with the regulator misconduct that harmed thousands of MMTLP investors in 2022 and beyond.)

It's also very telling that the MMAT bankruptcy trustee will likely uncover manipulation spanning from TRCH, MMAT & MMTLP, but neither FINRA nor the SEC have shown any interest in investigating.

DTCC clears the majority of every transaction globally. They are the system. They probably thought they had immunity.
