Even the Ultimate Life Form can’t deny the power of our community. Thank you for pushing SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS to sell more than 3 million copies!

A couple of weeks ago I tried doing anime compositing on Davinci Resolve, and now I tried to apply it to an actual animation (with Sonic of course)
Background from "Is the order a rabbit? BLOOM", I just looked for one cause I didn't want to paint it myself lol

SEGA would burn down an orphanage of puppies and then poison the water supply before making a Sonic anime in this style

@Sasukebix it sucks how they choose to not be consistent with sonic’s world geography across games, sometimes even in the same game

ain’t it lame how Sonic’s earth can’t have unique continents and landmass and instead has to be THE Planet Earth™️ from Real Life©️?

[metalsentry🎐𖦹⋆. ݁˖.ᐟ @metalsentry]

Watching this made me remember that during the 2000s-early 2010s fandom, a lot of people assumed that smaller/spin-off games weren't canon.
That's in stark contrast to how much emphasis canon is placed on nowadays in Sonic, both by some of the fandom and by the lore team.

watched this alongside etika back in the day and reacted the exact same way ❤️

Some people have had the audacity to say X Sonic is boring, has no screentime, when it's further from the truth.

But one thing X Sonic did so well, is how they handled Sonic at moments like this. Realise how Sonic doesn't give a speech that basically describes himself 1:1 like it's ripped from Wikipedia?

Everything about his character is told through his actions, his little replies, his expression, his exchange with Dark Oak, and the ambience of the landscape. Even when Dark Oak believes his struggle to fight is inevitable, Sonic also encourages Dark Oak to 'keep going and fighting', despite them being enemies. This contrasts so hard with IDW, which make him a mouthy character that desperately wants to bring others to his side.

X Sonic translated/interpretated the Sonic IP better than every any other Sonic media, and imo its writing eclipsed many official Sonic games too.

seeing recent sonic art discussion mention the dream team intro and it made me want to rewatch it

GOD IT LOOKS SO FUCKING GOOD

WHY CANT WE HAVE A FULL ANIMATED SERIES THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS????

[Person108 @PersonthePerso2]

The idea that the Sonic fandom can’t handle any other artstyle is just not true

Fans have celebrated and embraced countless newer takes on the Modern Sonic style in recent years

[metalsentry🎐𖦹⋆. ݁˖.ᐟ @metalsentry]

@JAlan_Arts yeah because he designed modern sonic
