I think this is my favourite thing about the show. Allyn Rachel as Bee is incredible at it. It's why so many of the lines live in my head rent-free.

I suspect Natasha Allegri was inspired by a lot of badly dubbed anime in the early 2000's.

The voice direction in Beeband PuppyCat is suuuuuuuuuper strange.

It’s kinda part of their weird abstract style, but sometimes it sounds like they’re using the most contextually detached takes in the final.

(Also it's definitely Oppenheimer and then Barbie. If you see Barbie first, I think Oppenheimer would suffer as the patriarchal elements Barbie heightens awareness of would distract from what Opp is trying to do)

In the end, I found the fun part of Barbenheimer wasn't the tonal whiplash/contrast - it was the rare joy of seeing two ambitious movies as part of a large audience, and both of them going down really, really well.

I've been using @BrickBorrow to rent LEGO sets. It's great! Customer service has been excellent, and now I'm 3 months in I'm about to unlock access to the bigger sets. Definitely recommended for anyone that loves LEGO but is running out of storage space.

My theory is that since it's easier to sub than unsub email, inboxes emergently evolved from "a list of items to go through" into "a torrent you dip into from time to time". To catch your attention, companies had to send more emails, which reinforced the trend.

2028: "live action" TV series set between ANH and Empire, with CG Luke/Leia/Han

2033: Disney+ premium allows digital recasting of Star Wars Saga. (People mostly just cast Samuel L Jackson as everyone)

2035: Episode X kicks off new saga trilogy

@danctheduck I operate my own one-sided version of the system you propose as a sort-of newsletter that goes out to friends (and also on a blog). The only tweak to your system I'd suggest: a slightly lower bar for replies, as even short ones - but longer than a tweet! - can have great value.

@danctheduck Originally email did seem to achieve a similar result emergently. I suspect the migration to smartphones was fatal for the proper "letter excgange" habit as it became much more convenient to read emails and much less convenient to reply to them (in any meaningful depth).

@larsiusprime I saw this calendar in the wild... I guess the precise and consistent border means its unlikely all AI. But if it isn't already, this looks like a product AI art can immediately do well on.
