@ctl1215 @eric00337327 @SamShar51775262@TseHillary @teachertalksTO A1Q1. One negative implication of accepting the "open web" is the spread of inaccurate information or biased information. Unless museums screen and provide specific websites that they have filtered through and continue to filter through for use.
@LionielloSilvio@ctl1215 @eric00337327 @SamShar51775262@TseHillary @teachertalksTO I find this to be true, time and time again. Especially with unengaged students. Even students who do not like a particular subject or content area, are more likely to get involved, if the way the information is presented is enteraintaing and engaging.
@ctl1215 @eric00337327 @SamShar51775262@TseHillary @teachertalksTO A3Q1. Being able to scan 3D artifacts/exhibits and manipulate them, makes the experience more authentic. It's probably the next best thing to being at the museum in person. Great way for students who do not have access to these sorrt of opportunities.
While I appreciated the offer to join in for some Friday afternoon dancing, we thought it would be safer for all if I just shot the video. @tdsb @Tdsb_stondat @s_spyropoulos
@LionielloSilvio@ctl1215 I totally agree. As much as I would have liked to get creative with my teaching strategies, I always felt the pressure not to stray too far away from the current classroom routine. Especially with senior classes, AT's were more territorial with them, less open to switching it up.
@ctl1215 1/2 There are many opportunities for science teachers to assess students without constantly relying on lab reports. They can informally assess through class discussions, which I've noticed occur less frequently in a science classroom when compared to other courses.
@DrAllisonR @MsElliott11@ctl1215 P2. Also how well equipped are these Eclassrooms to deal with IEP's or other struggling students. I think that the mandatory aspect of these classes will create a gap in learning. Capable students will pull ahead, and struggling students will be left further behind.
@DrAllisonR @MsElliott11@ctl1215 P1. I personally do not agree with MANDATORY online learning. There is a time and a place where Elearning can be beneficial, but I do agree that many students lack the self-regulatory abilities to keep up.
@ctl1215 Q2. I think we need to invite more Indigenous peoples to the conversation, and give them the opportunity and ability to create change. We can't continue to make decisions that we think are best (although they may well intended) on behalf of others.
@ctl1215 We "acknowledging" issues, especially in regards to Indigenous education, but there is not much action behind the words. We stand for the land acknowledgements but many don't actively involve themselves at the institutional, local, state and national levels to advocate for equity
