@piaqt You can pin it to your start screen by visiting options (scroll right on the same page that you find Favorites)

@TheRebeljt Sounds when the app is active, are currently not supported unfortunately.

@TheRebeljt Look for "Play a sound for" and make sure "All other notifications" is checked. WP8 doesn't allow customizing the sound.

@piaqt Have you tried tapping on an empty Favorites tile? It should allow you to select a contact. Or do a long-press for clearing.

@scottjenson Alternatively, you can pin a contact directly to your start screen (i.e. single tap for messaging or calling)
