Anyway, I’m going to try and take a break from Twitter for tonight. Mets players feel like shit. Mets fans are really angry. And the last thing I need to see is ppl in the sports industry world act like they’re all about calming fans down and reminding them it’s just a game lol
@CraigMish@metsfan8626 Ahh sports betting —another industry I guess is all about telling fans to not take sports too seriously. Sports are toxic enough and yet sports ppl like you still get so defensive when I say something like maybe tone down the cheap shots.
An extra annoying part about the Mets losing is watching all these fans celebrate. I’ll never be that kind of fan for as long as I live and it is pretty sickening that in 2025, reporters like this care more about the Mets losing than a Marlins owner that treats players like shit.
Marlins defeat the Mets 6-2. Sandy Alcantara sent the Mets fans home early tonight. Game was considered a sellout with over 34,000 fans. This is where you comment to me that it was all Mets fans and I remind you of the big fat L on the scoreboard.
@CraigMish@metsfan8626 Really? You’re in sports radio and you don’t realize the irony of telling fans to not take things so seriously and to calm down? Like fans are understandably depressed right now and we think it’s funny but it’s really not. Like it’s okay to just tweet showing some empathy.
Most annoying thing about the sports media is they weirdly want it both ways. They mock players, and teams and troll fans and then when anyone calls them out on it, they’re like hey don’t take this so personal.
@CraigMish@metsfan8626 You’re in sports radio—an industry that makes a bunch of money off riling up fans over a god damn children’s game while dehumanizing players daily. I call out NY Mets commentators for similar shit.
@metsfan8626 To be honest, I don’t even care so much about that but how these same ppl act like they want owners to spend more
Here’s one more tweet to show.
In fairness, a lot of Mets ppl defended the Wilpons like crazy too. Just thought in 2025, it would be different.
@metsfan8626 You may want to see the kind of tweets he has made over the years about Bruce Sherman. He’s a joke. They all are. Dude also loves to shit on the Mets. He has been like that for years
Marlins lose 1-0 to the Phillies and have been eliminated from the postseason with just 3 games left in the season. Huge improvement from 2024. Heck of a ride.
@metsfan8626 It’s like clockwork with these baseball ppl. They’re all just so full of shit. They act like they care about owners spending more money but are the first to celebrate when a cheap owner’s team does well. Called out the way ppl drooled over the Guardians last ALCS too.
It just feels right when the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park a part of October baseball
For the first time since 2021 the Red Sox are back in the playoffs
Rooting for cheap owners to not pay players is not the great take ppl think it is. Like honest to god, I would hate this regardless of who the Marlins were facing and yet ppl celebrate this stuff. Imagine telling a fanbase this is their WS. How is anyone okay with this?
Like if you are a baseball owner, what incentive do you really have to spend a bunch of money? The media still creepily worships "small-market" teams who overcome the odds and mock teams who spend a bunch when they perform poorly.
Remember, if a team doesn't spend money because the owner is a cheapskate or in the case of the Reds, an owner who won't sell the team, and that team makes the postseason, they should be praised. And if an owner spends money, and the team underperforms, they should be ridiculed.
@KasperStats Yeah but you're a fan of statistics -there's no denying that kickers are having a higher level of success when it comes to FGs. I'm sure some people are okay with it but it just gets weird where teams can get to like mid-field now and easily win.
Like honest to god, when I see a team that hasn’t won in several decades and has experienced so much heartbreak over the years, I root for them. Like I have seen Marlins fans get weirdly happy when they put the final nail in the 07 Mets’ coffin.
Will there ever be a sports team that hasn’t won in as many years as the Mets that is more hated by sports fans? Like I’ll never understand it. Like they are the only team with a long history of losing that gets no sympathy.
It would appear the Marlins have some interest in sending the Mets home for the postseason. Also big crowds expected so prepare accordingly this weekend.
Ahh yeah, the team with 8 pitchers with season ending injuries and one of the unluckiest offenses this year should be thankful for all the luck that has gone their way.
