My conclusion was pretty boring, yes they have potential but whether or not they should be used depends on the willingness/motivation of the teacher. Experts in this area (history didactics) simply see them as another piece of history in media and nothing groundbreakingly new

This week I handed in a term paper in educational sciences on the topic of using historical video games as teaching tools. Working on it was really fun, especially reading the perspectives of historians compared to the perspectives of teachers

@vawaur I think I'm gonna start it once I am focussing on the late Republic in my studies again, currently I fear that reading about that time makes me lose my current focus on the 3rd Century. Good to know that it is readable. Thank you for your detailed answer, it was really helpful

Finally managed to watch Nolan’s „The Odyssey“

The movie was entertaining. While it sadly is not a good representation of the actual Odyssey, which I would have loved to see, it is an interesting take on the story from a contemporary perspective
