Just got denied entry into a Thanksgiving tournament because non of the P4 teams already signed up were willing to play us 🤷🏽♂️
We were a Q2 win for the 4 regular season losses we had this season, so don’t want to hear about it not being a useful game.
We’ll keep trying!

Tonight, he finished the most improbable undefeated regular season in college basketball history.
It's a great lesson for all of us in life.
Tough situations can ultimately be the incubator for great turnarounds.

COACHES SPOTLIGHT: There’s a first-time head coach on the Division I stage who is making waves, and it’s Long Island’s Neil Harrow. A season ago, the Sharks finished last in the NEC conference. Fast forward to Harrow’s arrival, and they’re now competing for their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 25 years.
The former Los Angeles Sparks assistant has quickly changed the trajectory of the program, leading Long Island to a (16–8) record with five conference games remaining. The Sharks are just four wins away from their first 20-win season in 14 years — a major shift for a team that hadn’t reached double-digit wins in each of the previous seven seasons and had only done so once in the past 13. One more victory would also give Harrow the most wins by a first-year head coach in program history.
A major reason for the turnaround has been Harrow’s ability to bring in transfers who could contribute right away, starting with Kadida Toure. The 6-foot-2 forward, who played for Harrow at James Madison during her freshman season, has had a breakout redshirt junior year. She’s averaging (18.5) points, (10.0) rebounds, (2.3) steals, and (1.6) blocks, making her one of just ten players nationally to average at least 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks this season.
She’s been backed by Alabama State transfer Solangelei Akridge, who has provided solid production since conference play began, averaging (10.2) points and (3.5) assists. Janessa Williams, the team’s returning leading scorer, has also been productive in league action, putting up 15 points and seven rebounds per game.
That junior trio has played a huge role in Long Island climbing to second place in the NEC standings at (11–2), putting the Sharks in position to chase their second NCAA tournament appearance and their first in 25 years. Just as important, they’ve helped establish a foundation to build on moving forward.
Up next, Long Island faces a (2–22) Saint Francis team before a key matchup against NEC third-place Mercyhurst. A rematch with defending conference champion Fairleigh Dickinson also awaits. The Knights edged the Sharks 59–58 back in January, and that one has all the makings of a potential NEC Tournament championship preview. 🪄
Time to rank Rhode Island. For committee just boxscore watching, they play a bit of a more methodical style that won’t allow them to regularly blow opponents out, but if you watch games start to end they’ve dominated in every win. Only losses are B1G on road and top 25 Princeton
After 83-54 win over SMU, Clemson WBB coach Shawn Poppie says, "2 years ago ... [AD] Graham Neff took a chance on a mid-major coach ... and some people think ... maybe he's not ready, maybe he's not qualified for a job like this, but I was a perfect fit" https://t.co/7Pr9b5USCT
