@acfriberg@justfuckingyoda Some clubs have a ‘Join Me’ option for open spots. They can choose to allow others to join or not. Works great, especially for new members.
@LongAmbergris@exec_sum And you’re solely calculating investment advice fees. That’s a commodity at this point. Integration of real tax, investment and estate planning is what these folks need. And where the real value exists.
@LongAmbergris@exec_sum It’s an interesting and potentially good approach, agreed. U will see firms react. Kudos to them for being first, wouldn’t want to be on this knives edge w my $.
@LongAmbergris@exec_sum For average everyday run of the mill investors, yes fees should be a key determining factor. As it should be for all. However, not realizing the value of a Ferrari mechanic vs a Honda mechanic is costing more $ than people know.
@LongAmbergris@exec_sum Ha! 30 years experience in investment management. What people don’t realize is that as assets increase the value of advice becomes more important. SpaceX chose a small firm that isn’t well equipped to manage UHNW needs. They did this bc they were cheap. Some learn the hard way.
@TheDROP_Pod Not sure it’s a secret. There’s been people lining up for times at Hominy for more than 30 years. Including sleeping in your car in the lot à la Bethpage, before that became a thing.
@YellowWideBod@CaptainCons@BowTied_Golfer Ever go to the same place twice? If u think Caddies don’t keep track and make note of who tips what, and how they’re treated you’re kidding yourself. Again, the good ones do this.
@CaptainCons@BowTied_Golfer Carrying, double strap, $150 a bag is average. TBF, it is club specific so best to ask your host. Some are higher(Bayonne). Didn’t mean to imply u are far off at $120. That’s min at my club (‘top tier in Northeast’), so shouldn’t expect great looper at that level.
@MerionChuck@BowTied_Golfer Decent caddie knows before u hit a shot what they’re in for. Certainly after a hole they have a VG idea.
In my experience I try not to let the caddie dictate my round. 98% are at least serviceable. Again, if it’s a recurring issue check your member/host.
@MerionChuck It’s possible the member is your issue here, not the caddie. Most clubs align caddies based on member skill, personality and tipping. If not checking those boxes, good caddies are limited at places w real programs. To keep the good ones they have to get the good loops….sorry
